Hello, I have a few GR.3 fins left (just updated stock level on website), and I'll get a few Harrier TERMA pods cast hopefully by the end of the month. Thanks, Colin -
72nd Mustang Mk.IV conversion
Colin @ Freightdog Models replied to bigbadbadge's topic in Freightdog Models
Hi Chris, Yes, it's been a while since I had any. I'll get a few cast up by end of the month. Thanks, Colin -
The 2014 release of the Tr.8 was the HQT Mk.IX parts in the box (it doesn't say HQT on the box as the new fuselage was short run). The instructions (titled Tr.8 and Tr.9) are on scalemates and show the HQT parts layout, They do mention to modify the tailwheel on the Tr.8, but omit to mention the shorter ailerons on the Mk.VIII/Tr.8. Also none of the trainer boxings include the over wing wheel bulges found on I think all trainers (possible not on the Tr.8 when it was built, but they are there now). So the new Tr.8 is a more accurate version, although the parts need a bit more clean up. Colin

I just noticed something interesting about the AZ re-issues. Unlike the original release in 2014 which consisted of the HQT (metal tool) Mk.IX kit with a short run fuselage sprue in the Tr.9 and Tr.8 boxings, with guidance of how to modify the T.9 to the Tr.8, the new Tr.8 issue includes the earlier short run Mk.VIII parts with the short run two seat fuselage. The two Tr.9 boxings are still the HQT Mk.IX parts. Have a look on Hannants to see the parts, and compare with the original release instructions on scalemates. Colin

I think actually it's the cord that is out, by about 5 mm at the wingtip. If you compare you B.6 wing to the T.4 you will notice the difference (the B.6 is correct), if they are not displayed next to each other, you can get away with it. I think correcting it will be more work than it's worth, it's actually the undersized T.4 wing tip tank that makes it more obvious. Of course I could recommend a very nice set of resin tip tanks from a reputable British manufacturer that will help to hide the issue....🙂

The original S&M B.2 & T.4 had dimensional issues, fixed on the B.6/T.17/later T.11. I think the early T.11 release had the original errors but current one is fixed. The wings span was too short and tip of the wing too narrow, and the tip tanks were undersized to fit the tip of the wing. Good idea to work on older kits before the shiny new one comes out! Colin

ESCI 1/72 F-100D Super Sabre
Colin @ Freightdog Models replied to AdrianMF's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I'm glad to see this one is back, the Esci F-100D is a lovely kit, still the best Super Sabre n 1/72. I have two or three in the stash, very font memories of this kit featured in Verlinden Way Vol. III: On Plastic Wings. Colin -
Handley Page Victor B.2(R) Conversion
Colin @ Freightdog Models replied to PeterB's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Hi Pete, I'm looking forward to seeing this one done! I have a Matchbox (Revell issue) one in the stash, plus a Rare Plane one kit too, which came with white metal undercarriage (I think this was not common in Rare Plane kits before Hannants took them over?). Good luck! Colin -
It's not you, its me! I hadn't save them, try again and you should find them listed now. Colin

Pegasus Junkers Cl-1...
Colin @ Freightdog Models replied to John Masters's topic in Lesser Known Manufacturers Classic GB
Great build. I still have some new CL.I kits left in stock on my website, if anyone is in need of one. These include reprinted decals (old original stock was cracked), and I've added in some resin moving surfaces to preserve the corrugation. I also sell it as a bundle with a Blue Rider decal sheet. Thanks, Colin- 56 replies

Combat Kits, Hastings and HS748
Colin @ Freightdog Models replied to Julien's topic in The Rumourmonger
No not the S&M kits, although Combat do use the same pattern maker, but I know there were shape errors in the 748 that won't be in the Combat kit. Colin
