  1. That is both an excellent model and a really interesting subject. Good work.
  2. Frankly, to me your pic looks like it's pulled out of a very steep dive rather abruptly. The dihedral is too steep. The inner wing sections should be flat.
  3. That is very impressive - excellent work.
  4. It is lovely to find that I am human after all. I will repeat the joy when I visit Hyperscale. If I was a bot though I'd be devastated ... 😄
  5. That's a very impressive bit of modelling. Well done.
  6. Thanks to everyone who answered my question re the strakes.
  7. Those are really little gems - excellent job.
  8. Aside from the colour query I must admit that those strakes have always puzzled me. I've been a modeller for over 70 years now and (I know this sounds really dumb) but what was the strake's purpose? Be gentle with me ... 😉
  9. Beat me to it. Yes Evergreen, which I use regularly in building structures for my model railway, is too flexible for things such as struts. It appears to have been intended as a medium for architectural models in which it excels because it offers a wide range of structural profiles (I beams, H section girders, L section, tubular and square tube etc.) It offers sheets of thicker material however these if cut to form thin strips for struts would need careful reshaping to create the correct profiles, which while not impossible, would thin it to the point where the mediums flexible nature would reimpose itself. That said I use use it on aircraft models for creating internal details such as ribs, longerons, floors etc however these are supported by the stiffer standard polystyrene of the model kit.
  10. I'm not suggesting that the Douglas A3D drew its inspiration from the Me P.1099 however both designs were fighters that had a two man side by side crew to accommodate radar, so think outside the box and use the F3d layout as a guide. After all in most things form follows function. In the end the it's only a whiffer so whose going to know.
