It seems like an eternity since I last posted, probably because it is. To give you an understanding of how slowly I build, this one took me 6 years!
I'd been looking for the Hasegawa A-3 for a while, then I found someone selling three of them on eBay, two of which were off the sprues but all parts were there - there were also some resin conversion parts to make the model and earlier version, and the price was right, so I became the proud owner of three kits!
The kit decals had yellowed, so I used some aftermarket (Print Scale purchased off eBay), and I must say the kit went together really well. The base is from Coastal Display bases, the cockpit masks are from Clear Prop (available via Hannants), and the wheel chocks are Brengun (also available via Hannants).
This particular aircraft from VAH-2 served in Vietnam during 1965 aboard the USS Coral Sea, and was lost a year later after a collision with a Vigilante.
