New Air India livery announced

I'll reserve judgment until I see it in the flesh, so to speak.

Β

My immediate impression isn't favourable (no temple windows ) but I wasn't taken with the latest Lufthansa livery until I saw it up close on an A321 Neo and decided I rather liked it after all.Β

It reminds me of when Iberia changed their livery to the current one.

Β

They went from a classic livery that screamed "flag carrier" to a very budget looking livery.

Β

Mind you, with my one and only Iberia experience, the yarea flag carrier that acts like a budget carrier. In fact I've been on budget carriers that left me with a distinctly better impression than Iberia did.

Could have been worse.....I mean, it's not Lufthansa or Japan Air Lines 'bad', which are the current 'World Champion' benchmarks for awful....

I quite like the Luft scheme.Β  The Air India comes into the 'could be worse' category.

I'm sure Revell love it......makes their decal sheets as cheap as possible.

Β

Unfortunately it reinforces the stereotype that Germans have no flair or imagination.....

My thoughts exactly. The Lufthansa scheme is much better 'in the flesh' IMO, though it could have used a yellow stripe.

Β

Air India looks like a budget airline, but then so does everything these days.

Bit harsh LOL............

Every revision to the LH scheme has been worse than the previous one. They obviously don't want to spend money with a design agency. They're probably having anΒ  'in-joke' to see how bad they can make it....πŸ˜†

I really don’t get what people have against the latest iteration of the Lufthansa livery… so it’s got no yellow in it? Big deal. So it doesn’t look like something from the 1960s? It’s 2023… I’m not surprised German designers have come up with a clean, minimal design. Who said β€œLess is more?” Or β€œGood design is as little design as possible?”…

best,

M.

Good for the painters in the hangar. Less masking, easier to paint, easier to remove mask.

I feel that colours are associated with the airlines and as much as possible should be retained despite the change in design.Β
I can’t imagine if SIA drop the yellow colour for a new design. That will be horrible.

I hope it's a deeper and more 'mature' red on the real thing than the garish, orangey-red in that artwork πŸ˜• looks like someone spilt a child's art palette over an old Kingfisher aircraft 😳
