perdu
It is about to become an interesting few days I didn't fancy Win10, now Gwyn and I have to learn it from basics Oh well at least it isn't 'Basic' I wish I hadn't lost all that useful hard drive space and set off this disaster, but self-inflicted huh Move on, time to go for a walk ☺

Some daft 'improvements' like any 'update' but fairly intuitive when moving from W7. Fingers & toes crossed that you can recover all your stuff.... perdu
The absolutely bonkers bit is that after backing it up into my external 250gig drive I just forgot to check the image files That really needs a 'fingers crossed' for Tuesday evening 😨

perdu
The Borrowers Possibly my weirdest question yet on Britmodeller Now I'm sure that even the better organised of us/you occasionally mislay 'stuff' Occasionally, but I am getting very concerned, nay worried, by the efforts of these amiable little chaps I use, mostly, my Swann-Morton craft knives as I am accustomed to them after using same since the sixties and in addition one of their 'handy' little scalpel blade holders for incywincy tidy little slender slicing tasks Nothing out of the usual there I am sure.... I buy blades for these when I know I am running out of reinforcements, usually in fives or sixes of the shapes I prefer Number one and two are favourites and numbers 10a or 11 scalpels I have about fifteen unused S-M 2s and 1s ready for use, as and wh... But nay sirrah I seek, I do not find 😬 I search without result All fruitlessly sadly Now to return to the little fellows, the "If its not being used we can..." chaps Are they dangerous? Is there any historical record that suggests they may turn homicidal?? Or Did anyone see where I put the blarry things? I have work to do, mojo's to rebuild
keefr22
Are they on the top of your head? That's where my glasses always are when I 'lose' them, & ask swmbo if she's seen them.... Keith 1

giemme
When things like that happen to me ( they do), I tend to think that objects have a soul, and a will ... No point in looking harder, they'll just come back when they're done - normally, as soon as you click "confirm" on the definitive order confirmation to replace them ....
CedB
"They'll be in the last place you look". What a stupid saying - only an idiot would continue looking once they've found something. Use a coin Willard...

Fritag
W10? WIN7? After I'd been iPhone'd and iPad'd for a while I went the whole hog and Mac'd as well. So it's macOS Sierra (soon to be High Sierra) and iOS 11 rather than Windows for me these days. I love the depth and breadth of the connectivity between all of em. I wouldn't swop back now - but it's horses for courses as they say.......

Bill , you should have a folder like icon on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen. Click that and it 'should' open as 'This PC' - that's basically the W10 version of My Computer. If you can't see the icon, go to search (a circle next to the start button on my taskbar) and just enter 'This PC'. You can also click the 'start' button, scroll down to 'settings' and that gives you all the devices connected etc. Keith 1
perdu
OK first things first Keith thank you for the help, I'm kinda getting there Second thing, online and now Downloading Lazesoft recovery for Win7, burning to CD at the mo' I suppose 'some of us' was having fun boasting about their shining bright apples, at ten zillion quid a go some of us poorer folks will have to work with what we've got instead Now I have the recovery disc, access to a working PC and another elderly led monitor I hope I will be able to rescue the win7 baby and COPY her files into Number Ten Tomorrow will do for that Did anyone see where I left the outer wings of the Bucc? A miracle has resulted in fifty vortex generators arriving on my doorstep, post haste from an Alchimist in the frozen, wind blasted North I now need to finish the inner cavities for the opened out wings to be displayed so I can run the etch tests the Wizard suggests They are beautiful Just noticed I got a couple of this Stunning wasn't it? keefr22
We didn't actually get to see the sun yesterday Bill, but the fantastic coppery metallic clouds made up for it. A bit! I'd like to be able to afford a Mac too. Fed up of getting soaked when it rains... Wife has got an iPad Mini. I have far less trouble with my Samsung & Kindle tablets! I'm guessing the outer wings of the Bucc have eloped with the knife blades! Nice V.G's! I guess I'll live with the plastic blobs on my Javelin & Orks! Just been on the SMW website & it told me there are (were!) 24 days, 12 hours & 42 minutes to the show. How nicely symetrical! Keith

keefr22
No pressure here Martian - when they introduced the 'only 4 club members allowed into set up' last year I decided not to bother taking anything to display (& I'm not the slightest bit competitive so never enter comps). And I'll be doing the same this year. So when the 'lucky 4' are setting up, the rest of us will be in the pub...!! Keith 1
