  1. Looks like a good mojo no stress restorative. Those peas look a bit overscale for a curry that size
  2. They're like Grimsby fishwives once they start.
  3. Very esoteric. She did spend a long time yakking on the phone. I mean, it was daylight when she started.
  4. We got bored with Silurian although there was a few wanted to go back to Ordovician (some of these can still be encountered on any given day in Moggins, Plymstock branch; myself not included).
  5. That scrubbed up well. Some of the tolerances in the cockpit can be a bit snug but not insurmountable. BZ on the canopy painting. The canopy is a good one to mask with prominent framing although may seem daunting at first and it fits perfectly.
  6. Try living in Devon and having to work in Cornwall-land.
  7. What are the odds nine of them will end up being painted red?
  8. I live on the eastern outskirts and you can smell them before you see them when the wind is in the right direction. There's genuinely a fishy smell with a W'ly wind and with a N'ly; well, the sewage farm at Marsh Mills makes it's presence known
  9. Outstanding; yet again. That burn looks nice and 'trouty.
  10. Nice job. The only thing I would have done is toned down the bright green on the uniforms and tin hat. Which green did you use for that? Matey boy sat on the starboard sponson is closer to the colour I would have used.
  11. That yellow nearly seared my retinas. Nice build indeed. Metal finish rather well done.
  12. Rather natty work with those brush handles and a spiffing build to boot.
  13. I've read in the past the spinner is a bit too large but it wouldn't bother me. The observer's probably got trappers hence the wistful look. Anyway, it's a Pusser's cab; what's not to like? I've got a Pusser's Avenger on the go and I think that's going to take an ocean of sky on the undersides.
  14. All fish go back as quickly as possible and I very rarely photograph them. The photo was taken as soon as she was landed, quickly weighed in the net and went straight back afterwards. You'll also notice the fish is on a wet net and not being held up in front of the camera which many people do. Hands are always pre wetted in a bucket of water prior to handling and on return the fish are supported in the water until they swim away. And I always use barbless hooks. You'll be happy in the knowledge with a flip of tail as soon as she was back in the water it was back down to the murky depths and no doubt wary of eating sweetcorn from now on. As an aside all fish no matter how small are netted and never swung in.
  15. Having a fishery all to myself, absolute stillness, seeing kingfishers flitting about, catching a fair few spirited roach and then this walloper came along . Happy in the knowledge that a 50yr old rod and reel and a single grain of sweetcorn can still outperform all the expensive carp tackle and gizmos when the occasion arises. A rather nice 13lb common carp. I may need a bigger net.
  16. HM; the branch formerly known as MET.
  17. Our 100th year was a lot more low key. Not enough wind for 100 ships to tack up the Medway.
  18. One of the RNAS machines which bombed the Zeppelin sheds on November 21st 1914 was my first thought.
