  1. Very nice build and weathering. Looks like the cat on the left is saying "that lower wing section could do with a bit more sanding"
  2. Very nice build and the paint finish looks good.
  3. Not really my kind of subject matter but I have heard a lot of good things said about WNW and I can see why. A great build.
  4. Looks great, very nice paint finish. Some of the vintage Airfix kits weren't bad at all and still worth building today although others - probably best forgotten
  5. Very nice build. Certainly is an interesting scheme.
  6. Very nice build. Good seeing another competitor plane instead of the usual Supermarine.
  7. Very nicely done. Do wonder if Airfix would consider releasing a new B-29 kit like they've done with the B-25, B-17
  8. I think the squiggles look fine to me. Might not match the artwork of the real aircraft exactly but it's realistic enough.
  9. Very nice build, I got the Revell because it was cheap too I seem to be working through the various brands, built the Airfix many years ago and then the Academy not long ago and then Revell as you know and have a few AZ in the stash.
  10. Undercart is on... and a lot of hassle it was too. After some contemplation , I went with these steps. Attach landing gear leg first and to Airfix's credit - it only goes in one way. Only need to look at getting the forward angle correct. Next attach gear wheel to gear door. Then attach door to leg. Lastly - this is the messy part, attach the top gear tab to wing and then lower the tab so it is in contact with the door. Leave to dry properly and then dab a tiny drop of liquid super glue to each of the attachment points - door to gear, tab to door and tab to wing. Has to be liquid super glue to allow capillary action run it into the join. Points to be aware of: Make sure the door attachment points are in contact with the leg. There is an attachment peg on the leg I had to sand in order for the rest to be in contact. Check there is enough room to slip the tab into the gear well. This is where a dry run of attaching door to leg will be useful in determining this. Make sure you are attaching the correct parts to the correct side of the wing, I got confused part way through and had to stop and check. The reason for going through all this is - you could have wheel attached to door, door attached to leg and leg attached to wing. Without the tab being connected, it's only the leg that's bearing the load. Having read the horror stories of styrene flex I was concerned the leg will bend over time. Hopefully with effectively 2 joins connected to wing, this will mitigate the risk... or I post back here in a years time saying it didn't work There are after market metal gear legs for the Airfix Zero and you could go with this if you really are concerned about the issue. Only other annoying thing is Airfix did not define the outer rim of the gear wheel. They did this with some of their vintage kits and disappointing to see them continue with this tradition. I had to guess in the end and did a sloppy job of painting the tyre. Needless to say, the rim is defined on the Tamiya kit. Second arduous task done with canopy masking and made a start on the engine. Still need to sort out the joins with filler and hopefully onto the main painting task.
  11. Congrats on being the first into the gallery and indeed that was quick.
  12. I'll be very surprised if that's all there is. It's just the RAF 100 logo painted on the tail. There was a series of Harrier special tails and that was just for an aircraft leaving operational service.
  13. Good you made it to the finish. A great result.
  14. Looks very sharp indeed, neat job putting it together.
  15. Excellent, just discovered the Tamiya Jagdpanther Late Version in the stash. You can add my name to the list.
  16. Indeed it is iconic and a great opportunity to build those new Airfix kits
  17. Great looking build. I like how the panel lines and rivets have been done.
