Bit of a milestone reached, wheels on (but not secured) - at least the airframe is up on its legs at last.

Yeah, like all your models, just superb! Well done to you.

Everytime I go through Slough en route to Wexham Park I wonder where your models are resting lol.

Can you explain how you ''polished'' it exactly?? what grade did you use? did you use any polishing solutions?....

Quite possiby mate ;)

Cheers Keef

Actually masking like this isn't hard. Its critical to ensure that every layer of paint including the surface is dead smooth so that the tape has a perfect seal, I use a Micromesh 3600/4000 cloth to ensure the paint is smooth. Lay the tape and rub it down thoroughly, and I spray at 15-20 psi - Lifecolour acrylics. The trick is NOT to wet coat the paint, you almost need to let the paint dry before it hits, otherwise it will seep under the tape somewhere (paricularly in panel lines)

Build it up with lots of thin coats, and when you unmask you should have a perfect line.

The drawback of painting multiple 'dry' coats is that the paint will feel rough and textured afterwards - no problem - just a gentle dry rub with a micromesh cloth and the smoothness is restored :)

should;ve read that before I masked my MB326 - would;ve saved me a bit of runnage.... but hey - I live and learn... and that is a STUNNING finish....

mostly under a layer of dust and falling apart :o , wexham isn't far from my gaf though ;)

No polish - just the micromesh cloths, these are 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12000 grit. Graham at Relish sells them :)

Undercarriage doors on, and canopy painted, I've got some work to do on the inside frame but the addition of rivet decals really brings it to life in my opinon :)
