Folks

I finally got my hands on the new Airfix Lynxes and have dropped all other projects to get these new products out from Belcher Bits. I still have not assigned product numbers or prices yet, but please regard this info as an early heads-up. I have re-mastered and improved parts from my resin Lynx kit, as well as making new masters where required. All decals will be typical high quality printed by Microscale.

BBx1: Early Navy Lynx Conversion and Decal

This resin conversion set will supply the parts to represent RN HAS.2 and HAS.3 as well as all other early Lynxes, including early nose, sponsons, long span tailplanes and early tail rotors. The included decal sheet should allow one to build ANY of the early Lynxes, including Falkland War and other early RN machines, Argentine, Brazilian, Nigerian, Dutch, Danish and French. Note Danish and German markings can be obtained from the kit markings.

BBx2: Lynx Torpedo set

This resin set will provide one pair each of Mk 46 (as used by RN Lynxes in Falklands, as well as many other navies), Stingray (current RN) and MU-90 (current NATO).

BBx3: G-LYNX Speed Lynx

This resin set provides the straight-back exhaust, tailplanes and fins needed for the World Speed record holder G-LYNX. The included decal sheet provides the special markings fitted.

BBx4: Super Lynx 300 set (Coming but a bit later than those listed above)

This resin set provides the new cowling for Super Lynxes with CTS800 engines, as well as modified noses where required. The included decal will provide markings for Omani, Malaysian, Thai and South African machines.

These will all be available shortly (definitely by Telford in November, but hopefully sooner), prices TBA.

When photos are available, I will post them here.

I'm waiting with baited breath (or is that bated breath?)

That's great news and I am really looking forward to seeing the set for the early Lynx, mainly as I would like to build a couple from the Falklands period.

G-LYNX is residing at our Helicopter Museum near Weston super Mare and I can get images for anyone who wishes to obtain and build your G-LYNX version.

cheers

I can sense a number of people just about to reach critical mass over this one! :boom: Might even be tempted to give it a go myself.

Oh... and :welcome:

I did not want to buy a lynx as I liked the earlier ones.

Now I will have to!

Any chance of an AH9A in the future? I'd like to do something more contemporary.

Or is Airfix too likely to do one themselves?

Stuart

Yes, that's on the list as well. I really need more info on the nose wheel tires, though ... I am assuming they are not the same as the Navy versions.

This is great news!

Having built both your versions of the lynx (and working on the Griffin as we speak) I'm sure these sets will be spot on....

I have already toyed with using the leftover parts from the RN version to backdate the new Airfix kit to a has 2 as I think most of it is there but would need some surgery!

Looking forwards to this lot coming out...

Bugger! I'm going to have to buy more Lynx kits now! As I said to your good lady at Telford last November, you are a very expensive man to know Mike.

Martin

PS;I'll have to tell Gill that the increase in the stash ia all your fault! :tease:

Great news as Airfix did miss the opertunity to close this gap regarding the early Mk2 and 3. :speak_cool:

Could I ask if you are considering a Granby fit with yellow veil etc??? This would have all the ticks in the RN Lynx boxes.

I still can't understand why no after market guys haven't done the Black Cats decals, if you don't think they look punchy then you have no soul. :violin:

Does anyone stock your kit in the UK and are you going to be at this years nationals?? Great to see you last year.

Clearly everyone is looking forward to these Lynx sets in particular the early one.

Now, will you be considering scaling down the Tracker conversion to 1/72 for the Hasegawa 'Stoof'? I'd quite like to do the RCN Tracker and using your current decals.

I second that. Plus does anyone make the older main rotor blades or have I missed this?

I always liked the AN/ALQ-184(?) pod and I have all the info on that but painfully little on the IR spoofers above the doors or the FLIR turret. Can you (or anyone else) help?

Several shops stock my stuff in the UK, but I do sell directly overseas and postage costs to the uk are still quite reasonable. I should be at Telford this fall.

The old blades will be a requirement for early Lynxes, so they will be catered for.
