  1. Hi Charlie, depends on which airframe you are making. Most MK5's carried the mounting pylons during their life. I'm currently making a Falklands MK5 & will scratch build ones for mine. There are good photo's in the walk round section of the pylons, wiring is external & again can be scratch built. Dave
  2. Looking for photo's of MK5 Seakings during the Falklands conflict. Just wondering if any ex FAA 'pingers' had any? I know they were newish helicopters then & that some a/c had their cabins emptied for cargo duties. Looking for a subject to model when new Airfix kit is available!!
  3. Looking good Mike, only comment is the pilots seats. the seat part should be a creamy colour, as seats normally had a sheepskin type cover, back part was usually orange! Cant wait to get one myself soon! Dave
  4. Anyine built one yet? If so, does it need nose weight? Dave
  5. with the new 1/72nd Zeveda C-130H Hercules coming out, maybe some RAF schemes of the past? Especially the 25th anniversary scheme from the 90's!
  6. I obtained a copy couple of weeks ago, great book so much information. Where they got it from amazes me! I sat in a SU-27 at Leuchars in '92 & the exact one is listed in the book. Managed to get a good priced copy via Amazon. Think a model will be done sometime soon now!! Dave
  7. EH101 (later AW101!!) looking good! I made PP5 few years ago when a kit first became available along with all the other pre-production '101's. They all on show at the AW factory now. Anyway, i'll be watching your build with interest. Dave
  8. thanks Mike, nothing there unfortunately!
  9. Looking for photos of the Victor, XL190, which had the 'teeth' added. Hope someone knows of any photo's? Dave

  14. Anyone know of or have close up pics of the under slung cables/hook fitted to seakings? In particular the release cable that goes into the fuselage(?) Dave
  15. ok thanks for all your help!
  16. I use brush to apply my paints & have couple questions. Hope someone may be of help? 1- anyone recommend a yellow primer chromate! 2- I normally use Humbrol varnish, but find it goes 'brown' after a while, any suggestions for one that doesn't? 3- can ALCAD paints be brush painted? Thanks for looking & hope someone can help me! Dave
  17. Great subject Tony! I was at Lyneham working in the SE section late 90 til 94, best years in my RAF career spent there. Did a lot of flying especially with the SF flight! Dave
  18. Only one has been delivered so far! Sure someone will take plenty of photo's at next Yeovilton air day as there will be one or more there then! There is a fair amount of differences externally between mk4 & the current AW101's 'junglies' apart from the colour!! Dave
  19. with the new 1/48th sea fury out, what about a set containing G-FURY (red with with stripes), Haydon Baillei's G-AGHB & my favourite FAAHF TF956? Dave
  20. It was XZ445 which sadly crashed killing both crew members. There are photo's of it fitted with a ex-GR3 wing which I have seen, but can't remember where! Maybe contact someone on the harrier SIG web site? Oh by the way, I just got a Kinectic T8 kit & hopefully making that particular a/c to! Dave
  21. I've just finished my model of KD431 as she would of looked in 1945! Dave
  22. Thanks everyone for your comments. I only noticed after taking pictures that I've done the 'gas patch' wrong colours! Should be red outline with cream coloured disc! Dave
