stevehnz
Meagre by many of the fabulous efforts on this forum but big for me, the most models I've made in any one year of the last 40 years plus. The 1st for the year was an Academy P-47D in kit markings. All these are 1/72. Done for a GB on UAMF. Next up, also for a GB on UAMF was an Airfix new tool Hurricane Mk I in Finnish colours, mainly with Kora decals, I wasn't too happy with the lack of opacity. Next along was a double build here on Britmodeller, 1st an ICM bf109E-1 of Fwb Arnold. who was shot down by the Spitfire Mk I of Flt Lt Carbury, both done for the Battle of Britain GB. A further Bf109, this time an E-4, the new tool Airfix kit in the old tool markings, done for the BoB GB on Airfix Tribute forum. My modelling year wrapped up with a couple of GBs in November on UAMF again, the Airfix new tool Gnat T.1 in Yellowjacks colours for a trainers GB. and a Hobby Boss Hawk 81/Tomahawk II in the colours of Flt Lt Clive Caldwell of 260 sqn RAF in North Africa. This picture is different to the one I finished with in the GB as it has since had its codes & fuselage roundel swapped for the correct size codes & maybe a better placed roundel. Bigger & better in 2016 I hope. Steve.

Navy Bird
Nice work, Steve. The Gnat sticks out - maybe it's the yellow paint. I love the yellow trainer schemes! Nice work on the 109s too. Cheers, Bill
stevehnz
Thanks all for those encouraging comments, I'm having a slow start to 2016 modelling wise, life, aka SWMBO wanting to recarpet the house, is running some very effective interence on my plans just now. Some GBs looking a bit iffy. Steve.
Learstang
Nice work on the models, Steve! I like the Finnish Hurricane, being rather partial to Eastern Front aircraft. By the way, what green paint did you use for the Hurricane? As far as I'm concerned, 7 models is a fine output for the year and betters mine by 3. stevehnz
The green on the Hurricane was Citadel Knarloc Green, "borrowed" from my sons Warhammer paints. I though it was a good match for a restored Hurricane in Finnish colours that featured in Aeroplane magazine a year or so back. Steve.
