  1. That's very nice indeed and in a colour scheme not seen very often. The II-76 is a mighty impressive aircraft and i bet it's quite sizeable even in this scale?
  2. Evening all. Latest off the bench is another of Revell's 'brail scale' Lightnings. Once again built completely OOB with only the pitot tube added from brass rod plus decals from 144th.co.uk (highly recommended) I chose to model the dark sea grey low viz scheme, but for some variety went with the high demarcation line that appeared on some aircraft during the later days of service. Paints were Tamiya and Xtracrylix with my trusted W&N varnish to finish off I've also posted up some photos of its stablemate for comparison 😁 The Binbrook flightline is growing...... Comments much appreciated, thanks very much for looking IMG_20230414_203928 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_204139 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_204110 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_204208 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_204002 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203637 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203950 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203916 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203744 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203840 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203827 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr IMG_20230414_203723 by Binbrook 87, on Flickr
  3. Very nice indeed! Interesting how large the Raptor is when compared with the F-16 😯
  4. Absolutely superb! I do love the Have Glass scheme and you've done a fine job there 👍👍
  5. Very nice indeed.... although Revell can't take the credit for this one as it's a Cyber Hobby rebox 😁
  6. Looks fantastic! The base is really effective too. Top work and given me some inspiration to have a crack at one of these 😁
  7. What i do is polish with as fine sandpaper /wet n dry as possible then use some ordinary toothpaste with your fingers for a final polish. Then dip the canopy in Johnsons Clear / Klear floor polish...should come up a treat when dry
  8. Fantastic! The Belgian F-104s surely have to be the most attractive. Great work and thanks for sharing 👍
  9. Yes I agree... I love this kit too. One of Airfix's finest (apart from the dayglo stripe decals which left a lot to be desired!) Lovely result and great choice of markings...
  10. Lovely end result despite your troubles. Can I add the 1/72 Me-262 to the list of 'what were Airfix smoking when they designed this' 🤔
  11. Evening all Last of my shelf of doom completions.... Roden's nice AC-47 Spooky Gunship. From what I remember (it was started about 3 years ago!) it was a nice kit to put together, the only problems being the decals which were horrendous! I think most Roden kits suffer from this problem? As was my standard practice back then it was brush painted with vallejo paints, with weathering from Flory wash and Windsor and Newton satin varnish to finish. Not totally happy and probably could do much better these days but at least it looks like a Spooky! Hope you enjoy. 12. Very nice. And superb brush painting skills there! I do love the RAF Sabres 👍
  13. Very very nice indeed! Great to see something a little different 👍 The RAF bomber camo seems to suit the B17 perfectly
  14. Fantastic! Thanks for sharing that photo. The stars n bars are not quite correct on my model though as they have the solid infilled black star. I couldn't seem to find any 'open' ones in the spares box or from other kits. They really need to be like those seen on the F-15E etc.
  15. Hi all I've not posted anything for a while as I've been sidetracked with work and a house move so not had much time at the bench, but thought I'd post my first completed model for almost 12 months! It's a rescued project from the shelf of doom, and something a little different for me....the old LS F-4E Phantom in 1/144 scale. Nothing special... just straight OOB apart from making it a later wraparound SEA scheme for the Osan aircraft using some spares box low viz stars and bars. I don't think they're exactly the correct type but its all I could find. I have seen this variation on some F-4s so I'm calling it artistic licence! 😁 Brush painted with Vallejo paints, but if i was building again I would go to the trouble of 'micro masking' and use the airbrush instead! 😁 It's a little bit too clean for my liking...but I'm calling it done so I can crack on with the next project 😁 Hope it's of interest and thanks for looking. 16. Very very nice Miguel! Love your mottling at this scale...very impressive. I've been following the Beacon story from it's inception and are excited by some of the (hopefully!) future BoB releases.
  17. Awesome! I too love that unique camouflage. You've done a fine job
  18. Fab result! Like you I'm also a fan of the HB 'easy' kits. Great for a quick build, paint experiment or mojo restorer. 👍
  19. Outstanding. Superlative. Incredible. Amazing workmanship. Fantastic job 👍👍👍
  20. That's got to be one of the best Hurricane models I've seen! Outstanding work...could pass for a much larger scale 😯
  21. Very nice Tim 👍 I love your production line with the other kits. I do dabble in the 'brail scale' now and again as a refreshing break from the larger projects. I do really like the Sweet kits as along with the ease of assembly they do provide a great range of decal options. Just perfect for a quickie build. The only problem i haven't quite mastered is airbrushing camouflage. I can't bring myself to brush paint anymore but masking the camo in this scale is very very difficult indeed. More practice needed! Thanks for sharing your pics and tips.
