Looks great - love the cockpit detail. I too am interested in the car - is it a kit? A diecast perhaps? Anyway, the whole display looks sharp.

Airfix Messerschmitt Bf 110C - 1/72
kapam replied to Kitchen Modeller's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Wow! Looks great - much better than my build of the same kit (which is why it won't appear on any threads here). We know the Eduard example is the last word in detail & accuracy; but your build certainly gives the Airfix new-tool a strong showing. Awesome work. -
Not brilliantly made...? Far too modest. I have built one and there's no way I could post a thread on it here. Especially now that this one has appeared. That's neat as a pin.

Very convincing B-17! Your NMF is excellent and demonstrates the late war "air superiority" of these amazing aircraft and their brave crews. Top job.

Hobby Boss P-61A Black Widow 1/72 scale
kapam replied to Sky Keg's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I've coveted this kit (in the local hobby shops) for quite a while now and your build inspires even more! None of your difficulties show up in the finished article at all. The subtle panel shading and fading is superb, as is the exhaust staining. A mighty testament to your skills. -
F-4G Phantom / Wild Weasel Desert Storm 1991

Excellent Phantom! Definitely one of the most beautiful and iconic of military jets. Great work. -
Nostalgia, it's not what it used to be...
kapam replied to TonyW's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I hear you loud and clear there - and believe me, I'm just as guilty of this "adult modeller's affliction" as anyone else here. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I think it is important that we try not to scare away new modellers (kids in particular) with our "detail and accuracy" attitudes. The best thing about this thread is it reveals that my start in the hobby (late 60's) was much the same as most everyone else's. Essentially, I went from watching my Dad build the kit for me, to doing it myself and eventually (perhaps as many as 15 to 20 kits later) starting to paint them myself. -
Very nicely done. Look cool, and just that little bit different, with the US star markings.
-
Fantastic build and paintwork! You'll probably have a few saying it looks "too worn-out", but I'm quite a fan of the heavily-used look. Better than too pristine, IMHO.

Heller EC-121 with a lot of help from the aftermarket 1/72
kapam replied to hsr's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
As one who has built a Heller L-749 Connie, I can attest to the enormous workload you had building that Warning Star. You certainly nailed it. Awesome!- 37 replies

Short Skyvan, Airfix 1/72
kapam replied to fjaweijfopi4j48's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very nice! Another plane I always liked to look at and often thought about buying the kit. As usual, you did a fine job, even though it was a while ago. -
PANAGRA DC-6B 'Mainliner' (Minicraft 1/144)
kapam replied to thorfinn's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
What a beauty! Builds of the classic airliners of the 40's, 50's and 60's are very welcome as far as I'm concerned. Exemplary work indeed and very colourful. -
Junkers F.13, Revell 1/72

A masterpiece for sure! I don't have the kit, but always rather liked it. Definitely a nice looking plane of the era. Brilliant job! -
Bf 110E ProfiPACK edition Eduard - Nr. 7083 - 1:72
kapam replied to JMMendes's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Superb work! The weathering and staining is as good as I've seen. This looks like a step above the Airfix new-tool kit, I daresay. -
Is the Tardis a Flying Machine?
kapam replied to fjaweijfopi4j48's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
That is a work of art! I'm happy to call it a flying machine if you are. The subtle shading is awesome. Alas, my Wife would probably prefer jewelry too - but I love it. -
Wow, that is awesome! I doubt that my builds could stand up to such close-up photography, like your work obviously can! Recently I've started to get a taste for building a 1/72 F-14. Most of the online talk seems to centre around the Hasegawa (later tooling) and Fine Molds kits, with a smattering of Fujimi. I don't recall big accolades for the Hobbyboss kit, but your skills certainly make it look a gem.

Revell 1:72 Focke-Wulf Fw-200 airliner
kapam replied to Kevin Callahan's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Ha Ha! Good explanation! 😁 So who knew that pilots were allowed to have their pets in the cockpit! LOL! 😄 -
Revell 1:72 Focke-Wulf Fw-200 airliner
kapam replied to Kevin Callahan's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very nice indeed! I think I've seen the kit in a few 2nd-hand lots now and again; but never looked in the box. I think it makes a nice subject as an airliner - quite regal looking. Is that an unglazed porthole each side of the cockpit, or an optical illusion? Well done, anyway. -
B-25G "Tee kay" 1/72 Italeri
kapam replied to Poupichoups's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
A well-worn and grubby B-25; what's not to like? They had to go through a lot in the PNG jungles. -
Nice one! The added figures and the truck really set it off. Well done.

Looks great! Always good to see such a fine result from an older kit.

That looks cool. Nice detailing on cockpit and undercarriage, especially. Will look great in your workplace display.

My own personal Battle of Britain
kapam replied to FatFlyHalf's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Looks rather good to me. I like how you've posed the hatch in the front glazing in the open position. The upper colours look pretty right (to my eye) as well. I think your perseverance paid off and I hope you are still able to call it all "fun", which is what it should be.
