  1. cracking build. That reminds me of the one I was given by a teacher of mine, my dad dropped it three times trying to hang it on my ceiling, I can confirm they naturally want to dive...
  2. The only good thing about the series was it prompted me to read the book and the follow up Massacre of Mankind. i don’t understand why the story was not honoured
  3. +1 for flory, I did use Humbrol enamel washes and had the same issue even with their own thinners.

    Telford 2019

We had a great time, second time at the show even managed to park in the Centre Carpark on the Saturday which after 3 trips just to get everything thing in was a godsend. The volunteers in yellow did a great job again. My lad had a very exciting day on Saturday, picked to a couple of medals, lost one tooth (apologies for those who had to witness the amateur dentistry in the loo) and was interviewed by a vlogger. The Airfix make and take included the 1/24 Impreza which was great. Managed to have a good look around the club and sig stands today and there was some excellent stuff out there. A perfect weekend.

    Telford 2019

This was our experience as members last year too, hopefully the same this year (with the good weather!!!).
  6. Just finished packing (a lot) of boxes lookout for the yellow horseshoe (IPMS Rutland)
  7. Apart from the already mentioned is there a list of traders? cheers
  8. We had a (chocolate) button cute one, 18 months later he’s 32kg and is currently snoring his head off next to me... still a legend though!
  9. Great show, venue excellent well done!
  10. For info the GR3 airbrake was larger than the 'hole', the GR1 did fit more inside, watching this closely as I'm about to attempt the original airfix verision and I think I'll have the opposite problem
  11. Nice build, I spent my adolescent years not far away from Upper Heyford and remember them flying overhead almost everyday.
  12. Too true about the score, it really makes the film...off to google now..

    What are you reading?

Ready Player One and Jaguar Boys. Shame about the swearing and sexual references in the former, my 8yr old was desperate to read it but he’s not growing up that quick...yet
  14. I think mine is suitable for all scales up to 1/24
  15. What about a blob of superglue gel? Or try softening some sprue and pushing it on a cheese grater hole of suitable size?
  16. They look fantastic, could you share how you did the finish on the inside of the nozzles? Hang on, looking again at the WIP looks like it was white with a wash
  17. Oh I think you can put a drop of washing up liquid in the paint mix to break the surface tension. Other than rubbing the paint down...not easy on a small model and then a coat of clear gloss, sounds like the oven cleaner thing is the way forward and start again
  18. When you say wasn't sticking do you mean it was going patchy as you brushed it on? If so this was probably the mound release on the plastic, next time give the kit a wash in warm soapy water before construction. Humbrol paints need a bit of thinning before use, the acrylic ones can be thinned with a bit of water.
  19. It would be interested to see one of these built alongside the Airfix version... I assume this is an italieri/tamiya warbird? Does it have raised or recessed panel lines? The cockpit has come up well.
  20. Nice work, although the Lynx isn't the biggest helicopter in the world it still takes some room up...
  21. Lovely, we were at Duxford on Monday having a good look at no.3 (in the queue to go in the Lancaster) it is such an awesome plane..you've done it proud
