  1. cracking build. That reminds me of the one I was given by a teacher of mine, my dad dropped it three times trying to hang it on my ceiling, I can confirm they naturally want to dive...
  2. The only good thing about the series was it prompted me to read the book and the follow up Massacre of Mankind. i don’t understand why the story was not honoured
  3. +1 for flory, I did use Humbrol enamel washes and had the same issue even with their own thinners.
  4. We had a (chocolate) button cute one, 18 months later he’s 32kg and is currently snoring his head off next to me... still a legend though!
  5. For info the GR3 airbrake was larger than the 'hole', the GR1 did fit more inside, watching this closely as I'm about to attempt the original airfix verision and I think I'll have the opposite problem
  6. Nice build, I spent my adolescent years not far away from Upper Heyford and remember them flying overhead almost everyday.
  7. Too true about the score, it really makes the film...off to google now..
  8. I think mine is suitable for all scales up to 1/24
  9. What about a blob of superglue gel? Or try softening some sprue and pushing it on a cheese grater hole of suitable size?
  10. They look fantastic, could you share how you did the finish on the inside of the nozzles? Hang on, looking again at the WIP looks like it was white with a wash
  11. Oh I think you can put a drop of washing up liquid in the paint mix to break the surface tension. Other than rubbing the paint down...not easy on a small model and then a coat of clear gloss, sounds like the oven cleaner thing is the way forward and start again
  12. When you say wasn't sticking do you mean it was going patchy as you brushed it on? If so this was probably the mound release on the plastic, next time give the kit a wash in warm soapy water before construction. Humbrol paints need a bit of thinning before use, the acrylic ones can be thinned with a bit of water.
  13. It would be interested to see one of these built alongside the Airfix version... I assume this is an italieri/tamiya warbird? Does it have raised or recessed panel lines? The cockpit has come up well.
  14. Nice work, although the Lynx isn't the biggest helicopter in the world it still takes some room up...
  15. Lovely, we were at Duxford on Monday having a good look at no.3 (in the queue to go in the Lancaster) it is such an awesome plane..you've done it proud
  16. I love these. The engines are my favorite part, they must be huge on a 1/48, on my 1/72 craptech they're almost the same size as the 1/32 eurofighter which is on the bench at the moment... Very nicely done.
  17. Nice finish, is this the old boxing ( not sure if there is a new one...)?
  18. I made one of these a couple of weeks ago.. Updated it with AMRAAMs, BOL rails and asraams, looked ok..the only down side was that it was the starter set so the livery didn't really match the load out. I fancy doing the ef3 in l/72... Just need another f3 kit got rest of the bits...we'll see what wings and things can deliver this weekend...
  19. Great to see,I did a show and tell with my son for the B of B last year for the 75th anniversary... Managed to scrape together a dozen or so relevant models, luckily we also had some quick build stuff which could be passed around (it was the first term of a year two class). Airfix to the educational packs... Might be worth mentioning it to her teacher... All my son's friends which have joined us to make a model or two have really enjoyed it.. and two of his cousins
  20. Just carry the finished article in your hand swinging it around making vroom and ducka-ducka noises...your bound to get a table to yourself....
