  1. Stunning build! The paint colors looks amazing! What colors did you use on the exhaust? I am looking for a brownish/blackish exhaust color and looks like you have it. This is one kit that may get me to do a folded wing option. Do the ailerons actually rest on the vertical stabilizers? It looks like they do on your model and in pics of the real thing.
  2. I am working on this kit as well. I really like the way yours turned out. It looks busy with all the little pieces and missiles attached. Nice job on the painting as well! I did happen to notice that it appears that the landing gear are on the wrong sides. I believe the forward main wheel is supposed to be on the inside. I hope my Mig turns out even half as good as yours! Did you have any balance issues? Were the kit supplied nose weights enough?
  3. I have certainly bought kits based on good box art and passed on kit with bad box art. I am very partial to Rikyu Watanabe's art as seen on many Hasegawa boxes. I like good box art! I have felt this way since I was a kid and loved the dynamic art work on the 1/32 Revell kits of the late 60's and 70's. Oops! I meant to write Shigeo Koike not Rikyu Watanabe. Watanabe illustrated the Great Book of Aircraft or some such book hidden under my bed because it's too big for my bookshelf.
  4. Agreed. The Hawker Sea Fury is tops on my list for best looking British aircraft. It has my favorite wing plan form and wide set landing gear, smooth round....... oh dear......
  5. Have to agree with you on the griffon Spitfire, brutal yet beautiful. I am a big fan of the Mustang as well, but It looks mechanically beautiful to me, more of a manufactured good look than the grace and form of the spitfire.
  6. What makes the Spitfire a beautiful aircraft to you? I personally seem to gravitate toward wing shapes, the Tempest being one of my favorites, but I am curious what others see in it. I agree that the spitfire is very good looking. Another thing that does it for me is the sound of a Merlin engine at full song, just gives me goose bumps! I do however think it looks a little awkward on the ground. I tend to favor the looks of a widely spaced set of landing gear . Don't be shy, just looking for opinions.
  7. Great shots! Thank you for sharing them. Looks like a fun place to visit, kind of like going to a friends house as a kid and looking at all of the models he has hanging in his room. I'm afraid my neck would get stiff from looking up so much!
  8. Nice work! I particularly like the exhaust staining. I am working on their 1/48 F-5A and I know exactly what you mean about the fit.
  9. Wow! Really nice build! the canopy looks awesome!!
  10. Excellent job on the water effects and the model looks fabulous! Certainly nothing to critique on that model, well done! However... your inspiration photo looks to be a computer model, nothing wrong at all with that . It would seem that the prop was drawn turning the wrong way, but maybe my eyes deceive me. Still, your model looks terrific!
  11. Very nice! That's an attractive paint job there! Congrats on a job well done!
  12. Nice tight airbrush work there! I really like the weathering!
  13. Does that include sleep?! I can barely get parts off the srue in that amount of time. That makes your build even more amazing!
  14. Nice Build! The shark mouth sure looks nice on that one! I think it would look good if you painted the tips of the prop yellow, unless they were different on RAF Mustangs. Regards,
  15. Simply beautiful! I'm impressed with you painting and weathering. How long did it take you to build?
  16. Really great work! I have always had a soft spot for the Monogram phantom. I hope all those stencil decals didn't cause you too much trouble because they look fantastic!
  17. That is just so cool! Very attractive display and great work!
  18. I always liked the looks of a nicely built P-38. You did it justice! How much weight did it require to sit on it's gear?
  19. Wow! Looks really nice in flight mode! Nice paint and weathering too! Great job!
  20. Nice work Dave, I really like the paint job! Quite the attractive scheme on the Turkey. Looking forward to your future builds!
  21. Lots of fine workmanship on display with that one! Well done!
  22. I don't think you can go wrong with satin black. I am not familiar with them being any other color.
