"Aerocraft Models has a new full kit in two scales and two decal alternatives.

FAIREY Tactical Strike Aircraft GOR.339 PROJECT 75.

The kit is fully designed in CAD and fully 3D printed, it contains a total of 57 parts, 56 are printed resin and the canopy is cast in clear resin.
There is an option to either choose ‘Lo Viz’ OR ‘Hi Viz’ decals.

The kit is produced in both 1/144 scale and 1/72 scales each scale has the same number of parts and the kits are identical other than the size.

This was to be a huge aircraft to deliver the Red Beard nuclear weapon, two of them are included to be fitted to the weapons bay.

The kit has been drawn, developed over the last few months by Chad Summer and myself. We were given a huge amount of information and help by Joe Warner Cherrie, who has a wealth of information and knowledge on PAPER / PROTOTYPE / WHAT-IF subjects.

Thanks to Chad and Joe, I am now able to offer these kits.
Note to help with scale proportions there is the two kits, a complete 1/72 scale development kit, a partially assembled 1/144 and a 1/72 scale F-104 Starfighter on the table.

It would be cruel to suggest that, like a number of projects in this period, it was largely propelled by hot air.  More seriously, I would say there's a lot of room in the upper fuselage behind the cockpit. as the appearance of these panel on the top of the fuselage imply.

Nice model and a good looking concept. One thing strikes me, there doesn't appear to be much room for fuel.

Seems to be a thing with jets from that era. "Let's make this prototype operational!"

Isn't that basically how the Lightning came to be?

From a bit of googling, it is suggested that lack of range was one reason this project didn't go anywhere (terrible pun, but seems to fit the facts)

A true cynic like me would say it wouldn't matter, one-way trips only.

  • Tsrjoe changed the title to Aerocraft Models 3D Printed Resin kit ... Fairey P.75 to GOR.339 in 1:72 & 1:144 scales

received the kit from Alistair at Aerocraft. First impressions ... waw, this may well be a game changer for this type of model with regards detail and buildability.

I will document my build as i go and post it up on a build thread

some reference material re the type ... TSR.2 Research Group  https://www.facebook.com/media/set?set=oa.529536945256583&type=3

Halfway through mine, (a planned magazine build). It's a great kit, as Joe says, builds easily with excellent fit and superb detail. It's a surprisingly large aircraft. The clear resin canopy is of the usual quality we've come to expect from Alistair. Care must be taken when removing the supports, particularly with the wings, as the small supports can be a bit awkward to get to. Having done 3D production for an aftermarket company in the past, I know that getting the supports to work efficiently and be easily removed can take quite a bit of thought. Overall, a great product, especially for those of us interested in these fascinating projects, let's hope for a few more in time. It'll make a great companion for the Fantastic Plastic (Anigrand) Supermarine 559 I have on the go...

Going by the pictures of Alistairs built kit, mine might have a rouge canopy that is a bit pinched in along the sides.

Well you know what to do. Get hold of me and let me know. If you cannot manipulate it with a little warm water to a satisfactory fit. I stand by my products if there are issues. Just make me the first port of call, that would be appreciated.

More project and prototype full kits are in the works and being planned. Some will be done in larger scales as well, typically 1/48, a few smaller aircraft possibly 1/32, so more scales to make more modellers happy.

No problem, I have yet to determine if I actually have a problem, will check Friday.

I have found out that the fuselage around the cockpit is suffering from middle-aged spread. I now have it clamped to the correct width and will gently heat it with a hairdryer tomorrow.
