Johnson Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Thanks for the update. You're all doing a great job, good to see the progress. Please keep posting, it's fascinating to see how the engines are being removed. For those who haven't seen it, the video on the BPAG is worth a look. Cheers,
bentwaters81tfw Posted December 5, 2022 Posted December 5, 2022 Oh, the joys of aircraft restoration.
tc2324 Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 Ok, so a long overdue update on all things BPAG. April really has been a blur. Not to put too finer point on the matter, we had to complete a number of things all within the space of a few very short weeks. 1. Lay a large concrete slab - check 2. Relocate the aircraft and other stores from the taxiway onto the slab - check 3. Build an LVRE shelter so that the airframes can be stored undercover after a fair number of years out in the open - check The following photos can help tell the story and if you want to know more, come follow or join the group for regular updates and general British F-4 Phantom chat on our Facebook pages https://www.facebook.com/BPAGofficial https://www.facebook.com/groups/bf4pag Once everything is settled at `base camp`, the group will once again turn it`s attention back to ZE360 and start working on relocating her to join her sister ships at Cotswolds. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 7
exdraken Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 Congrats!! Seems like rather endless work... Great you and your colleagues find time and some funds doing it! Later generations will hopefully appreciate that!
tc2324 Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 The weekend of June 3rd and 4th saw another hurdle jumped for Phantom F-4J(UK) ZE360 and the BPAG Team. The first J79 engine has now been removed from the aircraft for the first time since at least February 1991 with the weekend providing some steep learning curves for the team. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 If you want to know more or get yourself involved with any of the various British Phantom projects the group are involved with, please click either of the following links below. Greg B Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 I watched them a few days ago. Excellent videos for the history, the different markings she wore and then the information and images showing the colour of the F-4J(UK) that causes so much head scratching
iainpeden Posted September 24, 2023 Posted September 24, 2023 Really interesting stuff there - I feel a modelling project coming on.
Johnson Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Brilliant video, many thanks for posting. The engine removal sequences were just awesome, I feel a donation coming on. Cheers,
maybach_man Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I will be there when she arrives at Kemble
Britman Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 I have been keeping an eye on this aircraft at Manston since it was removed from the fire school. A huge amount of work required on these icons and good to see them all together. I guess I will have to content myself with the rejuvenation of Manston now. Keith 1
iainpeden Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 On Saturday (27th) the Raspberry Ripple a/c was outside on her wheels but with no outer wing panels. I am assuming they got ZE360 straight into the "workshop" when she arrived on Saturday 20th.
