franky boy
Looks very nice. I hope they’ve sorted out their decal printing after some of the trouble seen with the decals in the new Spitfire kit. James

fastterry
Did the F-6 shown with the Pacific theatre bands really have yellow stripes or have they fallen for the old overspray trick. I built a 1/48 Hasegawa Mustang lots of years ago and used the Aeromaster decals for 'The Flying Undertaker' and it looked lovely with the thin yellow lines with the theatre stripes. Then somebody pointed out that when they painted the stripes they used 2" tape to mark the outlines and there was overspray which gave the appearance of a thin strip of black with a gap when the tape was removed. This led some folks to think that the gap must be yellow, right? There are a number of photos of P-51s and P-47s that clearly show the thin line of overspray and the gap alongside the theatre stripes. No yellow, sorry. The markings represent the 82TRS while serving as part of the occupational forces in Japan immidiate post-war. The markings had at this time developed quite a bit compared to during the war. One can only be assured when studying photos of the actual aircraft. Should the yellow stripes on the edge of the black stripes be wrong, then just don't use them. So actually a very easy fix.

The earlier Cavaliers were still rebuilt/remanufactured P/F-51s, something you can use a base -51 kit for. The Enforcers however are completely different beasts with superficial similarity to a -51. Longer, different fuselage, for one.. Essentially a new kit.

mungo1974
Dunno about the Piper Enforcer as that was almost a completely new airframe. However when talking with Andrey of Halberd on Facebook about this 1/48 Cavalier Mustang set and the upcoming 1/32 version he did mention a Turbo Cavalier set in the works.
Scooby
This Cavalier release has made my decade! A colleague of mine owned a Cavalier Mustang and I performed maintenance on it, I have airframe time in it too! I instantly ordered two sets and will order 1/32 scale too! This is Ross’s Mustang, Draw Decals have decals for his markings.
Scooby
Interesting that the Eduard kit has the passenger seat on the sprue, I never noticed that before while reviewing the sprues.

mungo1974
Doubt it for a TF-51 they are just both types of seat fitted to P-51D/K's at the time. The Schick-Johnson 95-100 and its variants were used in P-51,P-40,P-47 and most likely other types But the Warren-Mc Arthur 243B-AS1 was the more common type used in D/K production Anyway back to your scheduled viewing of the Eduard kit, before the Admin/Mods step in for me taking the thread off on a tangent Edited May 22, 2021 by mungo1974

This is exactly where information like this should be disseminated IMHO. Answered several 'issues' I've got over what seat a kit has Vs should have. 19 hours ago, mungo1974 said: Dunno about the Piper Enforcer as that was almost a completely new airframe.
