Thunderbird 5 with Thunderbird 3
GrahamS replied to Natter's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
Nice. The thing about Thunderbird 5, is that as a youngster, I could never work out why it had two hospital beds on the outside. Graham -
Ha ha, it was the size of the ejection seats that surprised me, they are minute! Graham

Now I normally do not model anything smaller than 1/48th scale - I really like the size and detail the scale comes with. But the wife bought me an Airfix Victor, and it was looking a little lonely so I arranged a permanent sleep over for a Vulcan. I haven’t made anything in 1/72 for years, if not decades, and I know shrink-flation is a thing, but did 1/72 actually get smaller over the years? My god it’s small!!! I need to invest in a magnifying glass and some new eyeballs. Graham 😁

Well, I was SO disappointed that the news flash announcement was not the long awaited and in demand 1/24th TSR2 with full weapons load and in service cockpits. In fact I was do disappointed that I had to console myself by putting in a preorder. Graham

Well, I’ve just succumbed to the dreaded pre-order trap, so I’ll be watching this closely. I’m not really into egg whisks, or at least I wasn’t until Airfix released their Merlin a few years ago, so this will go nicely alongside, also with the Lynxes… Graham

Well, I have to say that I’m more than a little underwhelmed that their so called surprise announcement is not their long awaited and very much in demand 1/24th scale TSR2 with full weapons load and in service cockpits. In fact I’m so upset that I might just have to buy a couple, just to make myself feel better. Graham

Mmm, I can see how that might be slightly problematic. Graham

Rob if you go about five minutes into this clip, is it the film you’re thinking of? Graham

Looking good! I think you’re going to need to reinforce the main undercarriage joint - mine looked okay for a short time but quickly began to sag. A metal pin (a paper lip I think) sorted it on my second build. Graham

It’s DEFINITELY worth building, it can form a very good base. There’s still plenty of stuff available from Hannants: https://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?adv=1&product_category_id=&product_division_id=&manufacturer_id=&product_type_id=&code=&scale_id=955&keyword_search=Tsr+2&setPerPage=25&sort=0&search_direction=0&save_search_name=&save_search= Graham

My mistake - could have sworn that there was a Revel and/or Monogram 1/48th shuttle (I guess it was 1/72nd)! 🤪 As I was saying, what we need is a new tool 1/48th Space Shuttle…… 😁 Graham

1/72 Concorde - the Airfix/Heller rendition is an inaccurate pile of 💩 And I wouldn’t mind a new 1/48th Space Shuttle. Graham

Joe 90 Mac's car [Finished!]
GrahamS replied to Kallisti's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
And a big one too…. Graham -
Yes, but not before the 1/24th TSR2 with full weapons load, in-service cockpits. I’d say also the vertical takeoff platform for it as well but that would be just plain silly. Graham
