  1. Very smart, is this airframe one that we acquired from down South in '82?
  2. Lovely pair of SHAR's. The RN is a beauty in that classic scheme. I need to build one of them myself some day. This Booty was only 1 when the old sweat @bootneck was kicking around in '74.....!!! 😅
  3. That is a lovely Spook and nice to see a wraparound scheme too.
  4. Thanks Mike, I will try and get some photos of my Vietnam collection over the weekend when the light is better. I have dozens more aircraft in the stash as well, too little time these days unfortunately....
  5. I have just finished this same kit (in RFI). It does build up very nicely indeed and is quite a size when complete. The decals in mine were ruined. Any idea what scheme that you will do?
  6. Great looking SLUFF. The HB A-7 gets quite some abuse and, if you can overlook the failings, builds into a nice kit. I personally am a fan of them and have quite a few in the stash (including this TA-7). It does look rather fine in that all white scheme and the display base is a fab idea. Phil
  7. That looks ace, the mix of materials used is a very nice touch and looks very convincing. I too am a big fan of the Luft '46 stuff.
  8. Cheers all. This is purely a work of fiction by the way (for those thinking WTF....!), I just wanted to have the twin seat Voodoo in SEA scheme. I have even more outlandish builds planned....!! The Revell kit is great. Lovely surface detail, good fit and builds into a decent sized model too. The instructions would have you insert the cockpit tub once the fuselage were together which for me caused big problems with the cockpit IP and needed remedial work to fix. The decals in mine were shot but I didn't need to use them anyway. I would easily recommend it if you can find one knocking around. Phil
  9. Superb. A lovely clean finish really suits this aircraft. Great work.
  10. My word, that is a real beauty. Flawless finish and I bet that looks lovely on display.
  11. 1/72 Revell F-101B Voodoo, TDY to 13th Bomb Sqn, Ubon RTAFB, 1970 - Vietnam War My main interest is the Vietnam War and the many aircarft that operated there. Coupled to this I also like to throw in a curve ball every now and again. This Voodoo is one of them! This is the Revell F-101B, airbrushed using Tamiya paints, spare decals and a Flory wash to highlight all the lovely surface detail. A bit of 'History'. In order to further reduce the flow of supplies from the North via the Ho Chi Minh Trail, USAF planners converted a F-101B to be used in the night attack role against ground targets. Using 4 x modified AIM-4H missiles in the air to ground role this unique Voodoo became the very first Tank Plinker. Working alongside the B-57G out of Ubon RTAFB, the Voodoo was moderately successful but ultimately did not impress enough to warrant more airframes being converted. Cheers all, Phil
  12. Very smart Ralph. I think that the Flanker family are some of the loveliest looking aircraft around. You have delivered a cracker.
  13. Superb model. I do like a nice Delta and this is first rate! It's good to know that this Modelsvit kit isn't a nightmare to build.
  14. Superb, The MiG-25 really is a brute of an aircraft. Those engine exhausts.....!!!
  15. I have no idea about the blast plates - my knowledge of the 19 isn't too great. I am just happy to have it finally finished on the shelf...!! 😀
  16. Very smart and nice and grubby too. It is certainly one that you won't lose on the shelf.....!!
  17. Phantastic....!!! Great work on the paint - looks great. What colour did you use for the tan?
  18. 1/72 KP MiG-19S 'Farmer C', 6032 of Nguyen Hong Son, 925th Fighter Regiment, May 1972 I started this way back in the middle of last year and it has been sat on the SOD until this weekend. Finally put it to the top of the 'to finish' pile. It was a bit tricky building with the gear up (I wish more manufacturers would give seperate closed doors as an option). All of the engine cooling scoops are individually attached, fun... Once I had it primed it was a breeze to finish. All one colour, 8 decals, wash, clean and varnish. I am quite pleased with how it has turned out and it now gives my MiG-17 a wing man and something else for my Yankee Air Pirates to tangle with with. I have just noticed that the cannon barrels need a bit of TLC - back to the bench....! 🙂 I have an Eduard MiG-21 in the stash that keeps looking at me.....!! Cheers all, Phil
  19. Nice build - I do like the shape of the 'Twosair' and I have a '72 version in the stash.
  20. Fantastic - looks great in silver. With so much 'glass' in a helo kit it is important to have a good paint finish around these parts - you have done a perfect job of yours.
  21. Superb looking MiG. I really like the chipping effects - very convincing. I am looking forward to building this one.
  22. That is a fantastic looking Thud - I do like the Trumpy kit, builds really well and is a good size. I really like the colours, I have not tried the Hataka Orange Line - can you say which particular colours that you used? Cheers, Phil
  23. An absolute beauty, lovely finish and weathering. Nice touch with the different external tanks.
