  1. Rather boring I think John
  2. It all stems from there fact that Hurricane 2d's of 6 Sqdn were fitted with 40mm underwing canon for attacks on German/Italian tanks with some success. They became known as flying can openers which is the marking now appearing on the Typhoons. We have a Phantom FGR2 of 6 Sqdn at Tangmere museum which has this marking. HTH John
  3. I asked DBMK about the Scimitar and they said early 2026. Evidently the curvaceous Scimitar is not that easy to replicate. John
  4. XV408 is no longer in that scheme. It has now been repainted into the DSG/DG/LAG scheme as an aircraft with 6 Sqdn as that was flown by a past Chairman of the Museum Trust John
  5. The Poseidons (ZP802 and 803)I saw at RIAT both had underwing pylons fitted. John
  6. I thought that they were painted in Boeing Gray - FS15015? John
  7. I do not like early Spitfires - the later ones with bubble canopy and Griffon engines look much better. Ones I like are the Hunter, ADV Tornado, radial engine Tempest, Sea Fury and Sea Hawk, F86 and perhaps the Swift FR5. The Crusader looked pretty good too as did the Scimitar. John
  8. I see that the Aviation Megastore now have this kit on pre-order with an expected released date on Sept 2025. I have ordered one, rather than wait for it to be available in the UK. If it is anything like the delay for the Poseidon to get to the UK, the Wedgetail will not be available here until Spring 2026. John
  9. I too think that it is quite likely that the majority of F35 operated by British forces will be the F35A. If the FAA had 4 squadrons (800,801.802 and 809) 2 could be on each carrier with a half squadron (736) acting as the OCU. For the RAF that leaves 72 (always assuming that we get the 138 planned), so potential squadrons could be 5, 7, 12, 17, 207 and 617 with an OCU (15 Sqdn) John
  10. If it helps Mr Paints do RAF blue/grey paint to BS633. John
  11. Now for the E7 Wedgetail - how long will we have to wait for that? John
  12. Ben - your Gannet looks great. Does Tamiya XF50 match BS633 or is it better to use the MRP paint? John
  13. Does any body know whether this boxing is a repop of the aged Esci F4J or a new tool? Thanks John
  14. Still not available in the UK , and I have been told it will not be here until May - WHY!!!! John
  15. The only good looking Spitfire/Seafires are those with the low back, bubble canopy, Merlin or Griffon engines, although the Mark 24/47 are not nice. Far better is the Tempest II or Sea Fury. For Jets, no contest - the Hunter of whatever mark, but the Tornado F3 is pretty good looking too. John
