  1. It did not have a Daimler engine. The Engine was an In house AEC design The B type chassis was designed as a Bus, around 2000 were impressed into service in 1914 under the UK Government subsidy scheme and many were converted to lorries, and many were built as lorries during the war, and later converted back to Buses postwar. The Lorry that had the Daimler engine was the AEC Y type produced for army use in WW1. A different vehicle. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEC_Y_Type
  2. Bit of progress getting some primer on!
  3. Selwyn's South African Canberra B(I)12
  4. Sorry there were no more updates on this had computer and camera issues but the final images are now in the gallery.
  5. Yes, its the Imgur not operating in UK thing.
  6. Sorry Can't see these images in uk.
  7. Just doing some prep for a future build of this kit lying dormant in my stash. Having a few problems finding good information so I wonder if anyone can help with the following:. 1. Has anyone got any good clear photos of both cockpits/instrument panels? Only found one of the rear cockpit in Scale Aircraft Modelling Vol 31 and it must be 1 cm square and unlabelled. clear as mud. 2. Has anyone got any good clear photos of the wheel wells/undercarriage legs? Again Only found a few in Scale Aircraft Modelling Vol 31, but not clear/great at all. 3. I will be cutting out the flaps to set them in the down position as normal on the ground. Can anyone give me the angle they deflect down to? 4. The intakes do not have the de-icer "Props" on the intake bullets. I understand that these were eventually removed under MOD 1000. but I would suspect that this may be an Engine modification not an aircraft modification. Along with this The intake bullets on the kit seem to be much thinner than the ones seen in photos. is this part of MOD 1000 or is the kit incorrect? The kit is about as basic as you could see in these areas, which is not a bad thing as they present a clear palette for detail improvements. I'm looking forward to this build.
  8. First lesson with Frog Novo Decals give them a good couple of coats of clear acrylic paint. This will hold them together for application.
  9. finally got this started life getting in the way as per usual. Just Doing painting on the sprue and the cab components. Added a steering wheel as the QL kit does not have one, just looking out for something to use as glazing for the cab as well. Chassis is together ready for paint.
  10. Aircraft basically together now with a bit of light filling I have done the seat in paxolin red to give a bit of colour to the black hole known as the cockpit, painting next. Apologies for the photo's been having camera issues so not the greatest!
  11. The Halifax Hercules engines were "power Eggs," If it was replaced the whole engine and cowling was done, not just the engine. Power Eggs were probably all painted at the factory in night bomber scheme so if a GR required an engine change it might have a camo nacelle until it was repainted.
  12. Really nice build like it very much. One criticism. The bombs should be light buff coloured. RAF bombs didn't go green until about 1941/42.
  13. They look like the standard Mk II 20mm Hispano with barrels extended out in front of the wing. . The Later (mainly used postwar)Mk V Hispano was shorter and contained almost entirely in the wing.
  14. As said before. Never ever live and inert. The drill Sparrows will have the word DRILL on the Oxford blue bands and wing/fin discs.
  15. Colours are same as all NATO Weapons Most seen are; Golden yellow band =High Explosive Brown band= Low Explosive (propellants) Light Blue band- Aircrew practice Oxford Blue band= Drill (Ground crew use such as loading practice if inert marked with the word INERT and also Usually marked NOT FOR FLIGHT. WE 177A Carried 600lb WE177A bomb was too long for fuselage so carried diagonally across the cab http://nuclear-weapons.info/images/we177-wasp.jpg http://nuclear-weapons.info/images/we177a-5-percent-paint.PNG
