I have a horrible feeling that this is just a marketing plug for the Sink the Bismark 1/1200 set. According to Wonderland Models it’s due for release on 31st May Link -

Airfix has already issued a Sink the Bismark boxing of the swordfish Link back in 2012 Maybe it’s a rerelease, but would have thought a new tool of something is more likely -

With Revell announcing Project Harrier this week, can’t help wondering if Airfix have retaliated with this announcement (unless it was already planned). Personally I would guess it’s a new tool kit or a vintage classic being re-released ( therefore hoping it’s not the old tool Catalina being dug out and dusted down). A new 1/72 kit of the big cat would go down well. It could even be a new 1/48 Swordfish ( if done to the quality of the Bulldog and Walrus then that would be very nice to see on the market). Don’t imagine it will be Bismarck, I would have thought that there are enough kits of it already. -
So let’s have some fun 🤪 name 4 possible releases in the following categories (any scale except no 4) 1. New Tool 2. Updated variant 3. Vintage Classic 4. Next Surprise release my answers: 1. 1/48 Westland Puma 2. 1/48 Lysander MkIII 3. 1/72 Short Skyvan 4. 1/48 Eurofighter Typhoon

Airfix seem to be hinting at what might be released with the following from their email: “ Brace for impact - the 2026 Range launch is landing soon…” plus the image shows a road and a snowy backdrop (not sure what that is hinting at) but the brace for impact could be a chopper hint? 1/48 Westland Puma? or Wasp

I think the 109 is genuine I can’t imagine a hoaxer would add the Includes paint mask So we’ll see in a few hours I’m sure it will please quite a few people

Airfix state it’s big, 1/24 and new tool (and not another spitfire) I would have expected a Hurricane as the next 1/24 kit anyway A Seafire has been mentioned, but only a Griffon powered one would be a total new tool, but I don’t think Airfix would go for that I certainly like some of the suggestions, although a 1/24 P38 would be a very big kit and one heck of an investment. Probably on a par with the Mossie. So I think it will be most likely something that they have already made in a smaller scale. Ie Gladiator, Tempest, Hawk, Hurricane It will be interesting to see if the lightning background is a red herring But I am going to back a Hurricane as the winner

Airfix 1:48 McDD F-4K Phantom FG.1 - FAA ?

I don’t believe Airfix have announced a complete new tool kit in any of their surprise announcements, so it’s the last chance this year. I don’t think that it will be the phantom, but probably something in series 3-4, similar to the Me410 a couple of years ago? -
