Hi all,

Thanks to those of you who commented on this at the end of my WIP thread...I posted some indoor shots there as I thought the weather was unlikely to be any good for photography today - wrong! So here it is, the Airfix kit with-

Paragon flaps, slats and bulged wheels;

Neomega cockpit set;

Eduard PE set;

Brooksy's turned ally pitot tube

Scratchbuilt boarding ladder, wheel wells, undercarriage details and lots of other bits.

Finished with Tamiya acrylics, Alclad - and Humbrol aerosol matt varnish!

First, some walkaround shots:

This is a dream come true! One of my favourite planes that has at last the perfect replica! Congratulations for a so beautiful work. The detail is amazing! I love the landing gear, and the gorgeous cockpit! :gobsmacked::gobsmacked::gobsmacked::speak_cool:

Y'see this is why I love Britmodeler.....and hate viewing the RFI section (not really). Every time I come here I see another great model build, and this one is no exception. Just another great one done by the one and only Deanflyer, which has become boringly routine :whistle: . Now I'm on a "must have Jaguar binge" Again!!!. What can I say that hasn't been said. It's simply OUTSTANDING!!!.

I left a comment on the WIP thread, but these are such great pictures...

Really like what you've done here, looks great.

Thanks for the comments folks, it's very much appreciated. A couple of people said they thought at first that the opening shot was the real thing - can't get a nicer compliment than that!

Clif, nice to hear from you again, hope your recovery is continuing.

Trusky and Mike H, nice to have made your day.

And Shaun, the paint colours were Tamiya XF-54 Dark Sea Grey and XF-61 Dark Green sprayed over with Humbrol aerosol matt varnish for acrylic paints that I found in Hobbycraft. Works a treat, and is the most hardwearing matt varnish I've ever used - it doesn't polish up and go shiny through handling like other acrylic matt varnishes I've used.

As an aside, Spence has been in touch and asked me if he could feature it in MAW, so watch out for it in a future edition!

Happy New Year folks,

Dean
