Deanflyer Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Hi all, Thanks to those of you who commented on this at the end of my WIP thread...I posted some indoor shots there as I thought the weather was unlikely to be any good for photography today - wrong! So here it is, the Airfix kit with- Paragon flaps, slats and bulged wheels; Neomega cockpit set; Eduard PE set; Brooksy's turned ally pitot tube Scratchbuilt boarding ladder, wheel wells, undercarriage details and lots of other bits. Finished with Tamiya acrylics, Alclad - and Humbrol aerosol matt varnish! First, some walkaround shots: Then some flyaround shots: A couple of detail shots: And a shot specially for TonyT: Hope you like it, Dean 1
andy wood Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 When the first photo started to appear I though it was the real thing. Lovley. Well done
BAC Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Very nice! And not heavy on the panel shading -that always ruins a good model!
daz greenwood Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 As I said before Dean it's the best Jag I've ever seen!
Wolf Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 IMPRESSIVE A VERY inspirating job, amazing!! Congrats
Av8fan Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 When the first photo started to appear I though it was the real thing. Lovley. Well done I agree 100%

Shaun Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 What a cool Cat!. Looks very good, like the extra detailing. What paint shades did you use? Shaun.
buccymad Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 the outside shots definitely make all the difference ,just went from really good to stunning in a few clicks!! top job
Daniel Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I always look forward to your builds, another cracker. Dan
TRUSKY1965 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 This is a dream come true! One of my favourite planes that has at last the perfect replica! Congratulations for a so beautiful work. The detail is amazing! I love the landing gear, and the gorgeous cockpit! Regards. TRUSKY1965.
Nick Belbin Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 An absolutely stonking job!!! And just what I need to see as a kuta for my Gulf War build – thanks!
atdb27 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 That 1 Cool cat Dean. Well worth the wait Adrian
Mike H Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 What a superb build. Love the 54 Squadron markings from this period. You've made my day. Regards, Mike
F111Fan Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 That, I have to say, is one of the best builds i've ever seen. Smashing work!
Angels49 Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Y'see this is why I love Britmodeler.....and hate viewing the RFI section (not really). Every time I come here I see another great model build, and this one is no exception. Just another great one done by the one and only Deanflyer, which has become boringly routine . Now I'm on a "must have Jaguar binge" Again!!!. What can I say that hasn't been said. It's simply OUTSTANDING!!!.
OzH Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I left a comment on the WIP thread, but these are such great pictures... Really like what you've done here, looks great.
Deanflyer Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Thanks for the comments folks, it's very much appreciated. A couple of people said they thought at first that the opening shot was the real thing - can't get a nicer compliment than that! Clif, nice to hear from you again, hope your recovery is continuing. Trusky and Mike H, nice to have made your day. And Shaun, the paint colours were Tamiya XF-54 Dark Sea Grey and XF-61 Dark Green sprayed over with Humbrol aerosol matt varnish for acrylic paints that I found in Hobbycraft. Works a treat, and is the most hardwearing matt varnish I've ever used - it doesn't polish up and go shiny through handling like other acrylic matt varnishes I've used. As an aside, Spence has been in touch and asked me if he could feature it in MAW, so watch out for it in a future edition! Happy New Year folks, Dean
