AnonymousDFB1 Posted March 16, 2011 Author Posted March 16, 2011 Got started this evening A little bit of assembly and interior green applied. Even went to the trouble of drilling out the lightening holes in the frame and making a slot for the seatbelts in the head armour More tomorrow...
Mike Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I've got the nose off one of these in my spares bin - I used the rest of the kit for the Messerspit I built a while back
Karl Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I've built one of these (at the same time as I did the Airfix Mk.Vb) and it went together really well, nice and crisp. Karl

Madmonk Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Nice start Mish, taking note as I am modifying this kit into a Seafire.
AnonymousDFB1 Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Quite a lot of progress today First job was to prime Ten put the underside grey on Then the topside grey Next up green Then I added the yellow id strips and started applying the decals More tomorrow...
AnonymousDFB1 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Disaster I think the decal setting solution pooled and caused the damage. So I took the decals off, sanded back the damaged areas and resprayed. More tomorrow...
pte1643 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Shaping up nicely. Shame about the roundel, but good to see it was an easy fix.
Peter Marshall Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Bad luck, it does look just like Mr Softner has pooled on them
Enzo the Magnificent Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Looking good, Mish! I'm really quite envious of the speed of your builds. Mine have been going for three weeks but you are already past me!
AnonymousDFB1 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 This is nothing Enzo, I can build a Mk1 in 14 hours.
Arkady72 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Nice to see a similar project, especially 316 Squadron.
AnonymousDFB1 Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Although she spent time with 316 Squadron I will be depicting her as she was with 308 Squadron. Well I fixed it! More tomorrow...
AnonymousDFB1 Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 Decaled the underside last night Nearly there
