Here are some pictures of my nickname plane. It is the most famous Flamingo, flown by Ernst himself at many events,

showing daredevil stunts.

The kit is from "fly deco" and was built almost 30 years ago. From above it's still looking good, but from all other angles

it shows my construction was not strong enough to hold the dihedral. Some landing wires probably would have helped.

Fairly recently I was able to get another kit so maybe in the future.....

Thanks for looking

Very nice build. I have high respect for paper models since I‘ve seen some at a model show several years ago. It should be possible to add wires by drilling holes through the strut bases.

Nicely done, even if it has 'sagged' a little..

I am always impressed by the results paper/card modellers can achieve...

Ever thought of dissecting it and retrofitting a couple of spars?

Nice result! I have a big respect who are able to construct nicely such  paper work.

Have done some work to the old bird. Bent the wing joints a little and applied white glue on a "jig"

Then started to rig with 0.3 mm steel wire, cutting to length with abrasive disc was not pure joy.

Now she's looking much better...

Wow!  That's amazing!

Your improvements have really lifted it.

I'd consider it equal to a plastic kit, if not better.

Great skills!  👏👏👌

Superb work on a paper kit - nicely rigged as well

Thats great!

I always like the idea of paper models and thought the Flamingo would make a good flying scale model.

I use a good pair of surgical grade scissors to cut 0.3 steel wire rigging. It did not damage the scissors.

You've really breathed life into the mark 2 version, with added bracing wires and improved stance. Card models are great when they look this good👍

Thank you for the nice comments and many likes, really appreciated.

A nice card model needs a sound construction, great graphics and well painted cutting edges before assembly.
