Seamus
Afternoon all, Fresh off the bench is the superb 1/72 Hasegawa Su-33. Built completely OOB, painted with Hataka Orange Line lacquers and Alclad for the metallic areas. Weathering was kept fairly light with a simple application of MIG Prouction's neutral wash before a final coat of Xtracolor satin varnish. A great kit of one of the best looking modern fighters around. 1/72 Hasegawa Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr 1/72 Hasegawa Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr 1/72 Hasegawa Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr 1/72 Hasegawa Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr 1/72 Hasegawa Sukhoi Su-33 Flanker by Shaun Schofield, on Flickr Thanks for looking, comments welcomed Shaun

Filbert_Wang
Absolutely stunning job on a lovely plane. Think you've nailed the camo pattern, lovely soft palette too. Can I ask how you got that metal effect on the engines, looks really smooth.
Seamus
Thanks very much For the engines, I first laid down a black base before picking out some of the smaller access panels in aluminium. Then I went over the whole area with Steel, before shading with hot metal blue and sepia and pale burnt metal. Alclad was used throughout. It didn't turn out quite as I envisaged in my head, but nevertheless I'm fairly happy with that method. Hope that helps.

mdauben
Beautiful job on that aircraft! That paint job is really eye catching. I have to admit, the Russians have some really colorful camo patterns on some of their aircraft, compared to the rather monotonous grey-on-grey the US currently uses.
