Airfix 1/72 Vickers Wellington MK.Ia
gazza l replied to gazza l's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks Steve. I finished it with Alclad Klear kote Light Sheen, seems to work for me. Thanks. Yes, I can see myself doing another one in the near future... it was nice to paint something that wasn't grey and green! Thanks Martin. I quite fancy doing a Stirling, an impressive aircraft. Cheers Tbolt Some good ideas there, I think I should have painted it a darker shade of silver so that it was less visible. Oh well, next time!!! -
That's a rather stunning model. Excellent paintwork, looks quite challenging with that white cheatline. Also like the subtle weathering on the silver, very realistic. gazza l

Hello everyone. This is my first completion for 2022 and my first RAF WWII bomber that I've made for about forty years! Everything went together well and the level of internal detail was impressive, even though you can't see that much of it once the fuselage halves are together. My only criticism would be the over size geodetic structures that can be seen through the side windows, in hindsight I would have whittled these down a tad. This particular aircraft was recovered from Loch Ness in 1985 and is on display at Brooklands Aviation Museum. Built oob apart from some seatbelts made from Tamiya tape. MRP paints were used and weathered with pastel chalks and W&N oil washes. Thanks for looking gazza l

Kinetic 1/48th Sea Harrier FA.2

Thanks M. I've been very impressed with MRP paints, they spray straight out of the bottle, are touch dry within minutes and give a smooth satin finish. On the negative side they do smell, fume extraction or a decent gas mask is a must and I do find the tall bottles are rather prone to being knocked over... ask me how I know that!!! Cheers, gazza l -
