    According to the USAF, the F-16 has a combat radius (in the ground attack role) of over 500 miles. https://www.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/104505/f-16-fighting-falcon/ Much more than I expected. I do hope the Argentine air force paint one of their F-16s in special colours!

    Nope. As @exdraken has pointed out, having Argentina 'friendly' with the USA makes them less likely to do anything silly. I suspect the latest Typhoon is superior to an older F16 anyway.
