  1. That’s looking super Johnny, some lovely complex weathering on this build. For the mud effects you can add/mix some enamel gloss change the dry effect to wet.
  2. Don't worry Andrew and thanks for pointing it out I'll remove the welds and get the scriber out, it was moulded as a weld on the kit so I just presumed that it might of been sorta accurate. Saying that Tamiya might of just measured up a restored wagon that had some "extras" added by the restoration team? Onwards and upwards as they say So tonight I've been weathering up the interior, washes and the likes of to pick out the details. Here is where I'm at so far. The washes are Tamiya panel line colours black and brown heavily thinned with AK odourless thinners. Some Steaking grime added to the sides. These were open topped vehicles so they were probably quite dirty. The radio got a very thin wash of brown panel liner just to make some of the detail pop. Once I get this cracked then its fun pigment time
  3. Cheers Rob, Yeah I like them, I thought they were a bit of a gimmick at first but now I’m seeing that they have a place in the hobby. They cover very well and they are quite durable is my first experience of using them. I’ll be grabbing a few more in the future that’s for sure.
  4. Cheers All Some work on the running gear, primed in the Mr Surfacer Mahogany primer, chipping fluid sprayed and then the dark yellow mix. That's the main tracked areas blocked in. I've been playing with the AK real colours markers for the rubber tyres and I'm quite liking them. The wheels are a bit rough but once a wash has gone done and then some weathering they will look okay I think. One wheel has been done and the other is still in the Mr Surfacer Black primer with the dark yellow inner sprayed up. I've also added back the welds on the hull that have been removed when I cut out the stowage bin lids, just some stretched plastic rod and Tamiya Extra Thin cement textured up with a micro chisel. Enjoy
  5. Very nice build Dale, the weathering is top notch mate.
  6. Back to the stowage bins, the lids have been added, the hinges were fun to get glued down - would I add these again? Probably not, Id just tidy up the plastic kit parts. Some plastic card added to the underside of the front fenders, looks like some kind of liner of armour plate? A few more bolts added to the front wheels suspension and that's really it for now. Next up is the lid locking mech - a few hasps and padlocks with chains - that will be fun Enjoy folks !
  7. It’s a bit of a custom mix Rob, all Tamiya. I’ve added some Buff and a Deck Tan to change the basic Dunkelgelb, done by eye mate.
  8. Looking great Dale, the unditching beam is very realistic and the pre shade has worked very well
  9. Cheers chaps Rear mudguards added, these are from the Eduard PE set and folded up and soldered for bit of strength. Drivers glass vision block painted up with some dark grey and then I added some clear UV resin to replicate the glass. Hard to see in the photo's but it looks really good in the flesh. Cheers
  10. Just cut off the CMK MG42 from its printing base and its a little gem of a part.
  11. A couple more decals added to the interior - Tetra fire extinguisher and some generic data plates for the radio power box. Get these varnished over to protect them and then onto the oil washes and filters. Cheers
  12. That’s coming together really well, love the weathering on the sponson interiors. Nice work Dale 👍
  13. Gotta love a good old Tamiya vintage kit build when it’s brought up to a very high standard 🫡 Some fantastic subtle weathering going on with this one Johnny.
  14. These might work for you ? https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/QD35078?result-token=maVES
  15. Cheers Johnny, The Quinta decals are actually for the vanilla Tamiya APC version but due to only subtle differences are fine and good to use on my version. I think Quinta do a set for your build but for the modern Dragon kit that would be suitable?
