Having circled back around to Pink Floyd in my guitar playing, this one is a nice palate cleanser after attempting Dogs.

Sounds like it's proceeding as it should be - just like fettling a kit part until it fits just right. Keep an eye on the left foot wound, though, as they can keep reopening due to the change in stresses from the prosthetic leg. Ask me how I know. Keep the skin dry and use petroleum jelly to make sure the skin stays supple. Good luck at the GP's tomorrow!

That is truly excellent news! The emotional roller-coaster will catch up with you soon, I'm sure, but in the meantime it's totally understandable to not feel anything. In the meantime, I shall be overjoyed for you.

Currently about a quarter of the way through Dave Grohl's memoir. I am a huge fan of Foo Fighters, both the songwriting and musicianship - but this book is more than a bit dreich, and I'm wondering how much further I can slog through before I have to call it quits.

Smooth and reflective, as the photo shows. Parts of the finish are reflecting other markings clearly. I don't know how glossy the real things were, and glossy, light colours are always difficult to assess in photos. The only problem with a satin finish is they can easily have a texture which is out of scale. A smooth gloss finish, where the edges of panel lines and sharp-edged surfaces aren't rounded can be effective - it's a lot of work, though 😁.
