ajwebb Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Was it mass produced or limited to one or a handful of prototypes?
GiampieroSilvestri Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 149 aircraft were built in total. Saluti Giampiero
ajwebb Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 (edited) The Breda Ba.88 with its low usefull load. This was my answer about 2 hours ago, just wanted to make sure. Where did you get the exact date from? All I could find was just October. Edited October 18, 2023 by ajwebb

GiampieroSilvestri Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 (edited) The Breda Ba88 Lince is correct! The date is from the Ali d'Italia book. Saluti Giampiero Edited October 18, 2023 by GiampieroSilvestri
ajwebb Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Well, then I guess I'm up. What aircraft was marketed in the 1940s as " The World's Safest Plane"?
ajwebb Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Too easy. I picked the _ER_coupe because I actually own one. Probably should have went with something more challenging. Congratulations Wlad, it's your go.
Wlad Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 You own one!? How cool. Are the rudders coupled with the ailerons still? It's a cool looking little airplane. OK, another easy one. Which airplane made the first powered flight in Canada, and which year?
tempestfan Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I confess my ignorance: Silver Dart in 1909. Googling sometimes is instructive...
ajwebb Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 @Wlad, Yeah, they're coupled. That was one of the criteria I had when I was looking to buy one. Although I haven't flown it yet. I got it a year ago and still working on the maintenance aspect of it. To think I'm only 19 and I have a plane and a Corvette! 😅

As for being 19 and having a plane and a Corvette, you are sounding like a spoilt brat 😀. Cheers, Wlad 1 2
ajwebb Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Nah, not spoiled, both my car and my plane are in need of maintenance, and I'm the one who's going to be fixing it. 4 hours ago, Wlad said: If they are coupled, how do you handle cross-wind landings I'd look up the answer in the flight booklet, but I don't have it with me. And I don't have any flight experience in it either. 2
pigsty Posted October 24, 2023 Author Posted October 24, 2023 Paging @tempestfan - we're looking forward to your question ...
pigsty Posted November 1, 2023 Author Posted November 1, 2023 Right, as @tempestfan seems to have gone AWOL, and to keep some life in this thread, I'll ask another. What air-launched weapon was completely coated with nearly an inch of rubber, and why?
Dave Swindell Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 AGM-69A SRAM ? 0.8" soft rubber coating to absorb radar energy and also dissipate heat during flight. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGM-69_SRAM
