What is it currently with lifting paint finishes! However, nice save 👍

Thanks WP,

I still have no idea what caused it but I'll be keeping an wary eye out in future.

I don't think it would have happened if I'd been using Colourcoats as the top coat but didn't have the colours.

Cheers,

Alistair

Great save, Alistair - it’s looking mighty fine.  Excellent little GB this!

I’ve had some paint lift of colourcoats off of alclad alumnium/Mig chipping fluid, but thankfully not to the extent you suffered it.  Your equitability and ability to refocus is impressive!

Thanks very much Steve.

Most kind of you.

I usually use Colourcoats and have only had a couple of light dots lift before.

More sheer bloody-mindedness I would suggest. :D

Stickers look good, those numbers will sit down given enough Mr. Mark.

I’m travelling again Wednesday/Thursday so you might just get to the finish line before me!

Just caught up Alistair.  That's really frustrating with the paint lift, but terrific save!  The Buffalo looks terrific in that paint scheme and you did an excellent job making it look lightly worn.  I really like that Dutch scheme a lot!  Great work!

Thanks Roger.

They settled down after one treatment.

Hi Alistair,

Your Buffalo is looking very smart. I like the Dutch markings, something a bit different.

Nice save with the Tamiya paint lifting, an unusual occurance, but you won in the end.

Nice to see Mark.au and Dunny's Buffaloes too. You three are spoiling us!

Thanks for sharing

Thanks very much Kevin,

Mark and Roger's build are crackers and I will trail happily in their shadows.

You are far too modest, Alistair.  There’s nothing at all in the shadows about your work.

What Mark said - this is a belter of a scheme beautifully executed...

Great to see the decals go on Alistair,  looking good fella. I am sure the decals will settle well.

Chris

Thanks Chris.

Mr. Mark Setter did the trick and they've all settled nicely.

Thanks Mark and Roger,

That is extremely kind of both of you.

You both have encouraged and helped me to try to improve my stuff but it's the usual story, I'm my own worst critic and I know where the flaws are.

Still keep pushing me though as it's so much fun doing this.

Cheers,

Alistair

Well, it's been rather a productive day.

First of all a light wash.

Followed by some oil work.

The undercarriage got a oil wash then the Prop, wheels, pitot and aerial were fitted and it's time for a matt coat.

I'll get some dust and dirt on her tomorrow along with a final tinted flat coat and then unmasking and aerial wires rigged.

That should just about do it.

Thanks for looking,

Alistair

Chris

Thanks Chris,

I'm thinking it shouldn't be too long now.

Beautiful work, Alistair, this is a little stunner!

Thanks Mark,

Unmasking this morning and there was more paint lift.

Bits have been touched up but I need to wait for it to dry properly and then get the toothpick clean up done.

Dutch markings look very nice. I'd never have thought of doing that scheme👍

Thanks WP,

I just fancied doing something a bit different.

Final bits and bobs done. Well, sort of.

Unmasking the clear parts was fun as i got a bit more paint lift and then spotted that I'd not put the gunsight in.

Oh well, stuff happens and as far as i'm concerned it's done.

Many thanks to Roger and Mark for letting me play in their sand pit for a while. I had a total blast doing this.

RFI Here.

Thanks to everyone for all the support through this one but mainly to Roger and Mark for letting me play.

Cheers,

Alistair
