Thanks Mark, I'm going to need to be very careful with the nose seam, If the night shift goes OK I might try and get some paint done. Not promising anything. I got woken early this morning and did a little sanding. There's still work to do as I can feel a few less than smooth transitions. I've also popped the canopy as the windscreen part needs repositioned. Cheers, Alistair

Cheers, Mark PS mine arrived today I'm going to save it for the Recce GB Thanks Mark, In regard to the kit I think that if you are careful with the placement of the wheel well parts and shave a bit off the port side of the cockpit it will all go together with less bother than I've had. One thing i missed mentioning there are raised ejection pin marks at the wing root end of the lower wing parts that need shaved back to get a fit on the leading edges. Hope that helps, Cheers, Alistair

Getting there. 11 hours ago, opus999 said: Page 4 already? Well, I have to say the cockpit looks terrific and this is shaping up nicely. I think I'm getting intrigued by this kit... AliGauld
A light sanding this morning to get the pinholes sorted and then ot for a lick of paint. Still a little work to do here. And here. I'm happy with the rest though. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair

AliGauld
Clear bits masked and then the two halves of the nose cone glued together. I've fitted the bulkhead and nose wheel parts into the fuselage as that seemed to be more logical. I'll deal with the seams tomorrow when all that stuff is dry. On a dry fit the nose cone is a pretty good fit. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
AliGauld
The cone seams were dealt with and the nose cone glued on. All the previous work appears to have helped as there will only be a smear of PPP needed to clean the join up. I'll star on that once the glue has properly cured. Then it will be time for some recribing. Thanks for looking, Cheers, Alistair
2996 Victor
The Meteor looks great with its schnozz in place, Alistair the further along you get, the more eager I am to have a bash at mine! Cheers, Mark 1
opus999
I haven't looked in for a few days and it's really come along well! The problem areas you highlighted didn't look too bad, and it seems that you've fixed them up (just looking at the pictures, I'm not sure you actually mentioned it). It's a bummer having to glue the nose cones halves together, but I guess it was unavoidable for Airfix since you have to put the clear parts in. Looks great so far! 1

Thanks vey much, I think I've got the small issues fixed. The nose cone in two parts is a little more difficult but as you say i don't think Airfix had any option as the clear pieces are set back slightly from the outside surface and couldn't easily have been fitted from the outside. 50 minutes ago, 2996 Victor said: The Meteor looks great with its schnozz in place, Alistair the further along you get, the more eager I am to have a bash at mine! Chris Thanks Chris, I'll need to be careful from now on as the delicate bottom leg sticks out below the fuselage. The instructions call for the nose leg to be fitted to it when you build the assembly but I've left it off as i know I'd break it clean off at some point in time. 30 minutes ago, 2996 Victor said: Alas, I'm a past master at not reading the instructions.....
