Duncan B Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 I think the guys that post in the WW1 section in the Aircraft bit of this fine Forum would be interested to see that. I wonder if it would be worth putting a link in the WW1 aircraft bit? Duncan B

In the meantime here's my rib capstrip slotting set up using a router. 2
Dogtail2 Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 Glueing jigs for wing ribs and undercarriage wing ribs.
Dogtail2 Posted March 5, 2022 Author Posted March 5, 2022 Making 3/16 ply wing rib nose reinforcement pieces....116 of them
Jb65rams Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 As someone who would struggle to get 2 identical parts, 116 blows my mind. What scale? 1
Dogtail2 Posted March 5, 2022 Author Posted March 5, 2022 Scale is full size. Yes, it needed several jigs to make them accurately. 1
Dogtail2 Posted March 7, 2022 Author Posted March 7, 2022 Wing rib being glued. There are 16 separate parts to each completed rib. 3

Dogtail2 Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Rib out of the jig. It is then fixed to a template and the front profile is routed. Finally vertical stiffeners are added. 2
Malc2 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Interesting project, where did you get the drawings from? Malc.
Dogtail2 Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 They were purchased from the late great Ron Sands in America.
Malc2 Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 (edited) Wow, you going for a rotary engine??? Now available new - if you have the cash! The hardest part I can imagine would be making the engine cowl, unless you have panel beating and aluminium welding skilz?!! Sorry - I have a million questions as making a home built was always one of my dreams (Isaacs Fury), but I have far to much else I want to do! M. Edited March 9, 2022 by Malc2 1
ColinChipmunkfan Posted March 13, 2022 Posted March 13, 2022 Good luck with this build. I hope you will keep up the posts. I would to follow the build of a full scale triplane. Colin 1
