Knee deep in sawdust.

Making the wing rib parts.   1/16" Birch plywood.

Truncated webs are for ribs at the ailerons.

I think the guys that post in the WW1 section in the Aircraft bit of this fine Forum would be interested to see that. I wonder if it would be worth putting a link in the WW1 aircraft bit?

Thanks Duncan,

I may well do that when there is a bit more to show. In the meantime here's my rib capstrip slotting set up using a router.

That's the plan Bertie.

Wow. Not really a model then but very interesting nevertheless. Do you have any idea how long it will take?

Not sure exactly, but it's measured in years rather than hours or days.

Oh yes, I realised that. I'll drop in to check your progress in 2025 or so...

Rib out of the jig.  It is then fixed to a template and the front profile is routed. Finally vertical stiffeners are added.

Wow, you going for a rotary engine??? Now available new - if you have the cash!

The hardest part I can imagine would be making the engine cowl, unless you have panel beating and aluminium welding skilz?!!

Sorry - I have a million questions as making a home built was always one of my dreams (Isaacs Fury), but I have far to much else I want to do!

Use enough glue and don't skimp on the varnish unlike that Fokker.
