Seamus
Morning all, A selection of images from a quite incredible day last weekend. Never did I imagine I'd get the chance to shoot USMC helicopters, and in particular the Super Stallions, anywhere, let alone practically on my doorstep. A truly unforgettable exerience. JohnT
Those are brilliant photos - thanks for sharing. Lots of good references there for anyone building any of those subjects ! I did have a giggle to myself when I saw the photo with the Osprey and the sheep. After the debacle with the hospital landing pad and the Osprey last week I had a Wallace and Gromit moment with sheep flying about all over the shop in the Osprey downdraft. 1

Thanks very much Those Sheep soon became far less happy about the situation.... That Particular Osprey was not supposed to land in there and soon moved onto the correct HLS, much to the Sheep's delight I imagine!
spruecutter96
This is am amazing set of images, Shaun! To have all this going on where you live really is the icing-on-the-cake. The sheep looks pretty unconcerned that an Osprey has just landed 80 feet away (I guess they are not aircraft-enthusiasts). I thought I'd read that the US Marines had retired all their Super Sea Stallions (if I did, the article was obviously wrong). Thanks for sharing with us. Chris.

Thanks Chris, see my post above regarding the sheep! Indeed, unbelievable to have this more or less on my doorstep- couldn't believe my eyes when the Stallions first popped up on the virtual radar the week before! DAG058
Cracking shots! Super Stallions are mighty beasts, most people don't quite realise just how massive they are! The USMC chauffeured me around a hot and arid part of the planet many many times, I will always have a great admiration for them and their machines.
