I really like the spark plug leads and brass rail . Glad you got hold of a copy of the book. I know what you mean about that musty old smell. I'm a fan of 'real' books, I jlike it when they have a bit of ´patina' and a nice nostalgic pong about them . Have an enjoyable time at the good old NEC. ATB TonyT Thanks Tony. it's amazing what you find sometimes at these shows. Edited September 7, 2017 by The Spadgent
It's a disease
No worries, it's only up the road if you need anymore. and in a bizarre twist of ????luck???? my significant other asked me when we were going back. (they do a really good ham egg and chips!!) at least that's her reason for wanting to go back! so if you want any details, write a list! I'll cross as many off as possible!

All the best for your judging. The (admittedly restrcted) parts of the forum that I frequent seem to have gone really quiet - almost as though some of you bods are hibernating . Cheers, Alex. Thanks Alex. £10 well spent. I for one aren't hibernating, just super busy at work. I'm wondering though if modellers are like bears or even the humble tortoise. 8 hours ago, ozothenutter said: Nice work! Some RBmotion stuff would really set the engine off...he makes really nice nuts and bolts. So I see. great stuff, a bit outside my price bracket. 2 hours ago, TheBaron said: I like a man with a pipe. yuk yuk. Thats how it starts, with a single part, and next thing you know you're on 20 bends a day and eyeing up the inventory at Eileen's Emporium for something stronger... Is is that a shiny new board as well? Something tells me that engine won't be the last bit o' brass we see flashed here. Top stuff! Tony Thanks Tony. It's all your fault you know. That hinge is giving me food for thought that's for sure.

The Spadgent
Hi all. I'm Back from my judging escapade in Brum.Tired and Currently very jealous of every one else Modelling and myself not able to get to the bench. This will be remedied next week. Thought I'd share a pic of what was lying on my door mat when I got back this afternoon. I have managed to get my mits on a Prototype Photo etched IP from "Yahu" it's really nice, I can't wait to start on the office, which is just after the engine. I managed a few minutes of pipe work but nothing worth showing. Simply wanted to show you my shiny parts. hope you all had a good weekend. Happy modelling guys. TonyTiger66
That looks fantastic John ! Yahu really found themselves a market niche; the right price, superb range and great product. No idea how they do it; it looks like the real thing. I've run out of likes but 'me like'! ATB TonyT
sithman
I love it! The English guy is building the 24th scale bf 109 and I, the German guy am embarking on the 24th scale Hawker Typhoon! But seriously, I want to build this kit myself one day and so am watching with great interest! Thanks for sharing! Thomas

The Spadgent
Woot. I got some time at the bench, wonders will never cease. I wasn't going to post tonight but I have wine and what the hell. first up was to finish off the engine and under coat. here she is with a bit of dry fitted action going on. there are more pipes on the other side. i had to milliput the filter pipe, its a tad messy but you will never see it as the lower cowl will stay in place. Same for the gap on the lower filter box. (Damn gap) I hate when you only notice things when posting. all that got a blast of primer and I moved onto..... don, don, donnnnnn. It's so BIG said the nun etc. as are the sink holes and pin marks on that chair! never mind they got some left over milliput from the Engine. I'll let that dry and sand it later. so let's put this beast together. I tidied up the moulding and started the base construction. it looks a tad wonky in this shot but I straightened it up. Honest give I did. there is a panel at the back I wanted to add that I had seen someone do here on BM and it looked pretty ace so I wanted to add it too. quiche foil to the rescue. then flaps and a hinge, plasticard also to the rescue. and while the quiche foul was out I had, HAD to make one of these. you can't not. It's like a force pulling you in. Lee's Dracula -esq. ally hoop, the main frame got a blast of primer. Looking ok. and the Daimler had dried. all has moved on quite nicely. But wine and others updates beckoned. more soon. thanks for looking in. Hope it's not going too slow. I'm bedding in for the winter on this one. take care and as always. Happy Modelling. I used (the same tray actually) quiche foil to make the exhaust ports on the prowler. It's just the right thickness.
