Kallisti
I can't find any mention on the website of how many parts this runs to - anyone see that anywhere?
roymattblack
It's surprising how often people talk about part-work model kits that don't finish. Can anyone quote one? Every part work kit I've ever come across has finished the run. When 'tests' are initially being done to gauge interest, the publishers always say it's a test and invariably it's limited to one pretty small part of the country. Once the project starts, I've never known one to fold half way through. Even the Hachette Flying Scotsman - which was awful and was pretty much panned by everyone - finished the run. If anyone can tell me of a part work model that didn't finish, I'd be interested to hear about it. Roy.

James M
Or, you could buy the new Hasbro Hero Falcon, and Mike Salzo upgrade kit, and probably save yourself about £700.
marky sparky
Errrr, without sounding stupid, but the advert on T.V. about building the Millennium Falcon says it's a 1 to 1 replica? That would make a REALLY BIG model !!!
bentwaters81tfw
How big was the original model? (not the stage set piece)
gunpowder17
32 inch and there was a 5 footer. This one is modelled after the 32 inch one.
Algie75
Looks lovely and I'm sure, after 100 issues is worth all of the £893 you'll pay for it
bentwaters81tfw
I was hoping for a warp drive included in that price.
gunpowder17
Its actually not a bad price in some ways. The Master replicas ones were the same size and around the £1000-£1500 mark
batcode
got admit do like the idea of having a big millennium falcon but did look at it today and personally thought the quality did not merit the price??? as wasn't as good as hoped, but this isn't new its been on there website for a year or so
gunpowder17
As long as the shape is there i will be repainting mine if I ever finish collecting the mags! I think i read it has been reworked a bit since it was first issued. Having had the MR millennium Falcon of the same size , and repainting it , i can say it looks amazing
marky sparky
Oooops, 'movie prop', that'll teach me to play solitaire, drink cider and watch t.v. at the same time. Multi tasking! It would be interesting if they used copies of the master moulds.

Maybe my wife is unlucky, but she has 3 now two got into the 20s and one into 30s. Admittedly, these were sowing knitting ones but deffo didn't finish the runs. Marty... Ian Shumsky
I have to admit I'm very tempted by this... but... It looks like DeAg have reworked a lot of the parts since the first few issues were originally released -- compare the following part from the old release, the new release and the MR 'reference': Old: http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f10/deagostini-falcon-anyone-seen-falconbits-005-jpg-420987d1420205982 New: http://www.therpf.com/attachments/f10/deagostini-falcon-anyone-seen-falconbits-004-jpg-420988d1420205982 MR: http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af19/jeditopher/IMG_6555_zps71171831.jpg It also appears that the main bloke behind the MR Falcon is working on this with DeAg so there is hope for some good accuracy. At 80cm long this is a 1/43 scale version and it comes with lighting kits and full internal details. That said, it is a big punt to throw nearly £900 at this. But then again the FM 1/72 Falcon will set you back around £300 / £400 if you add in the lighting kit and can get a good deal on the kit... Hmm... decisions, decisions! davetwin
I was lucky enough to secure a 1/72 fine molds Falcon a few months ago from Hobby Link Japan as they had a few in stock with a lighting kit. I have also now subscrbed to this as well as picked up a couple of the first issues from the news agents to practive weathering the quad lasers. Ian Shumsky
I'm weak. I popped into the local newsagents and bought the first issue to get a feel for the offering and looking over the 'blueprint' included in the first issue and checking the part quality I think it has the potential to end up being quite spectacular. There will definitely be rework needed in some areas, and for the best results you'll need to be prepared to repaint the whole model, but once you're done I think you'll have a model you'll be pleased with. So... I've subscribed and will likely blow my next 2 years modelling budget on this... Time to review the stash and see what I can sell to be able to buy all those lovely new releases! Smiffy
Given, we are not going to see FM MF for some time or ever? The price for one will only steadily creep further North. Marty... I just sold mine recently. It went for £255. on Ebay and I was more than happy with that. People shouldn't get carried away, spending silly money on them, though. Yes, it is beautifully detailed, with all it's individual surface pieces, but they devoted so much attention to the details that it seems they forgot to check the overall shape and proportions. Now Bandai have the SW licence, I really don't see why they wouldn't do the Falcon themselves. I would wait and see what the have planned, before dropping large amounts on the FM Kit.
