Not a problem itself, using "external" printshops. It all depends on the actual printer. Myself I have used several printers for the Vingtor Decals range, including Cartograf, Microscale and others. None are "perfect".There are issues varying from cost to registration issues and film thickness. I have settled with Boa which ticks most of my boxes. I know that Boa also has done jobs for Kits-World. Nils

Nose replacement? 333 Sqn Mosquito RF725 KK-F
Vingtor replied to bobsyouruncle's topic in Aircraft WWII
No. 333 Sqn. cosisted of two flights during WW2, A Flight flying Catalinas and B Flight flying Mosquitos. In late April 1945 the two flights separated and B Flight was reorganised as No. 334 Sqn. Nils -
Nose replacement? 333 Sqn Mosquito RF725 KK-F

The spinner stripes replaced the nose service flags about the time of relocating to Norway. I have no information that spinner stripes were ever used operationally at Banff. Please note that Vingtor Decals will release decals for 333 Sqn. Mosquitos in 1/72 and 1/48 about end of April. These are downscaled from 32-125. Nils -
Yes. BOAC had only one B (or PR) Mk.IV - G-AGFV. The others were all FB Mk.VIs.
-
The Bromma jounals are quite clear. G-AGGC was the only Mosquito departing Stockholm that day. Also British Airways passenger lists identify G-AGGC flown by Hiorth and Wigen as Bohr's aircraft.
-
Having dived into my book on the Stockholm Run on another matter, I must regret that G-AGGG was not the aircraft carrying Niels Bohr to Britain. Both Swedish and British documents identify the aircraft to be G-AGGC. Sorry about this. Nils

The instructions for the Techmod sheet shows the serial align with the panel line. Which would not be unlikely.
-
Unfortunately I do not know the original source. It is part of a text file on my computer, generated in 2015, where I have snapped comments from some discussion group thread on Werner H. Christie whilst Wingco at the Hunsdon Wing.
-
I rather believe that if the serial indeed was slanted, it would be parallel with the lower panel line beneath the tailplane, not with the ground.
-
Vingtor started following RAF Mustang serial number applications
-
I have come over the following description for a RAF Mustang Mk.IVA: "Serial number below the tailplanes was applied in the "slanted" style found on many RAF Mustangs, i.e. parallel with the ground and not a/c centreline." Was this common, or not uncommon practice? I cannot recall seeing this on any photos of RAF Mustags. Nils

The drawings in the book were made from actual mmeasurements of Mks IV and VI aircraft, which are slightly different. The Matchbox fuselage more resembles the Mk.IV in size while the Formaplane is a Mk.VI. I have not seen the Dora Wings model so I cannot comment on that.
