  1. Daedalus; masses of pictorial info here on the Wasp from fellow Britmodellers who put the hard shutter work in with cameras. From my memory of the very same Wasp XT437 here at BDAC Old Sarum featured in Juliens walk around... they look pretty well constant all the way... but am sure the sea going rotor heads will put it right! Richard Looking at F29 in my Airfix MR.2 kit, and assuming that it's the same part: rear leg height 7mm , and front leg height 5mm not including the end points that connect within the locating holes....as it sits on a stepped floor. Length of horizontal seat rail is 5mm too, but all looks quite clear on instructions and allied to actual seat am sure you'll figure it out! All the best Rob

  5. Bob Interesting question; the early Harrier demonstration schemes were an eye grabber, but how about this one? The VAAC Harrier XW175, I remembered seeing a stunning air to air photo of it up at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection the other day, and there is a lovely large scale model (by Speedy?) in a case. Pete; As I mentioned earlier, we had a fascinating talk by Robbie Forrester Addie, who was a photographer at A&AEE Boscombe Down between 1958 and 1990 last night at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, it was filmed and will be available to watch online soon, so look out for that on their website perhaps. Part of his early work included using WW2 era gun cameras to film stores releases, and then it went rather technical after that!! We have a fitment on our Jag to film stores release, similar with the slotted holes to position with bolts, slightly different to that pictured by Head in the Clouds, but also with the aerodynamics of a brick.... Looks like the above pics answer the Bucc question though. Happy scratch building! Rob
  9. Pete, saw this on Flicker as too am looking at these 'Buccs' but in 72nd, am sure further searches will yield better image! It may be that similar pods are attached under Stbd wing of Jaguar XX734 at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, as they hold a number of test cameras. Cherisy Bit late to the party, but am working on a number of pictures at present on inter war army co-op aircraft in Wiltshire, and a friend showed me a photo from his private collection captioned "H1391 First Bristol to be Silver (Alum.) Doped Instead of Dark Green or Brown.... S.0f.A.C June 1922....." Hope that helps a bit?! Rob

Blacktjet Here's a link you may find useful as the actual aircraft's cockpit due to it's Boscombe Down heritage is with us at: http://www.boscombedownaviationcollection.co.uk/Index_files/Page4786.htm We have some photos on display of said a/c but unfortunately we are closed due to you know what at present... the finish has been researched fully by our technical guys so should be as accurate as you could get to original.   12. Paul; charming models! We completed an actual Sedburgh at our museum last year, Boscombe Down Aviation Collection, whopper of a wing span it has too! Finished in original ATC markings from Old Sarum, but was once at Accra in Ghana flown by Hanna Reitsch.... Really lovely to see something here so simple, and with personal conections. Thanks Rob
  13. Dear Mike Watching this eagerly, any photos forthcoming perhaps out there? My partner's father worked for a well known oil company in Madagascar during the 60's and supplied fuel to the Majunga Shackleton detachment. He remembered the octane rating which the Griffon required, and I'm planning on painting this in the near future to surprise him with. All the best with your findings! Rob
  14. Hi Peter Yes of course, thought I recognised you! I'm on the team too, so many volunteers and not enough time to be there at mo, we pass like ships in the night, was last in painting the Meteor engine bays which is pretty well near finished now.. how's that for a quick kit construction! In the meantime modelling Lightnings too... all for reference for my artwork I tell the lady... catch up soon. Rob
  15. Peter You may well be aware of the cockpit of Lightning F2a XN726 on your doorstep that lives at the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection up at Old Sarum. Hugh Trevor, it's owner, and I had the exact same discussion about which green it should be, and I know he went to great pains to get as near as possible to what was originally there on the airframe... some weathering dictated an amount of research but with a fine result I feel. It is displayed with images of it's service life from AFDS F2 through both 19 and 92sqn schemes NMF and Green. They're open everyday now bar Mondays for summer... but then you may have already visited! All the best with the Lightnings... I know how addictive they are! Rob
