Listening to a Euro mix while travelling around, caught this from the Spanish gypsy punks while we were stuck in a traffic jam on the A1 near Osnabruck... Then this heading towards Münster... ...so typically German!

That's my point really, I think a lot of criticism of Airfix kits in recent years has been about details not shape. They're pretty good at shapes but I don't think they understand the details sometimes, they reproduce what they've seen regardless of whether that is typical of an in-service aircraft or not. Roger @Dunny thanks for the link to your Mk.IV thread, I'll be taking a look at that later. Great work so far on the Mk.I. -
It was not meant as a criticism, I was struggling to think of the right word, perhaps lame isn't it, what I'm trying to describe is the minimalist almost "thin" (although that's not the right word either), aural texture or layers to their music compared to what followed on from their innovation. And I think that's the reason, others that followed were able to build on Kraftwerk's vision but by using later, commercially made instruments that were far more capable than those Kraftwerk came up with themselves allowing them to springboard off of their legacy. I'm well aware of how important Kraftwerk are, I have been a fan of theirs for well over 40 years and love their work. One of the great things about streaming services is that I can now access more of their work more easily than I could as a teenager.

And that's the point really. By modern standards they sound quite lame but if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have those modern standards. Kraftwerk were groundbreaking and deserved to be remembered so.

It seems strange these days to describe Kraftwerk as bold, revolutionary, evocative and exciting because that's what they were to me when I first heard them, now they seem naive and somewhat lightweight but what we need to understand is that the electronic music of today would be nowhere without them! I remember travelling back to the G-Spot from Bielefeld in the back of a mates car, smashed out of my head on Wobbly or the like after a night out on the lash with Autobahn playing on the cassette while watching the orange sodium lights flash by, it was what the song was all about. Every time I hear that song I'm transported back to the mid 80s, the attics at Gütersloh and pints of Wobbly! How did I ever survive it?

The use of a museum aircraft per-se is not a bad thing and should result in something correct in shape and geometry. Where it does fall down is in the details, that aircraft is a hybrid and also, any museum aircraft is a snapshot of that aircraft at that moment, its understanding that and how it relates to in-service use. @Dunny following this thread is very helpful, particularly with respect to the gap between the transparencies and the fuselage, I wonder if the Mk.IV kit is similarly afflicted? -
@iainpeden your post highlights the importance of taking these tests when they drop through the post. Myself included, we're all reluctant to take the tests, either because it's not pleasant doing it and we're worried about the result but, a negative result is not necessarily a bad thing. Thanks for posting.

You've just made TWMW tear up again but she's adamant that you're not going to hell for that. She used to work for an organisation that commissioned health research for the government, success stories like yours make her realise she, in her own small way, she did good stuff. This thread too has been overwhelmingly uplifting and positive, I KNOW it's already helped others and will hopefully do so going forward, hope is such a powerful emotion when undergoing treatment, especially the treatment you've been through. If you are going to hell it's for the service humour and your singular inability to take things seriously, something she's suffered from from the day she met me and something she's taken me to task for every time I've read her one of your posts. Thanks a bloody lot @Enzo the Magnificent

When was the last time we had an F-86 STGB? We're supposed to have a gap (5 years IIRC), between STGBs so that the same subjects don't keep cropping up year after year. @Enzo the Magnificent will know, I'm sure he keeps a spreadsheet for that sort of thing. If an F-86 STGB were eligible it would have my support

I've just read your last couple of posts to TWMW and it brought her to tears with the positivity of your attitude. Keep it up because I know it's helping others out there.

Questions on this Blenheim IVF... some odd features?

AFAIK, radial engines were particularly bad for leaking oil (more so than other types of piston engines), Bristol engines potentially more so thanks to the British predilection for making leaky engines (certainly my BSA did in my youth). It's interesting to note in the picture posted by @Dave Slowbuild you can see the oil that's dripped onto the tyre (just under the code letter F on the undercarriage door).
