1:48 Airfix Spitfire F24 from the back of the shed

Recommended Posts

Found this old'un from the back of the shed covered in a thick layer of dust. Made this 10 years or so ago, back when I still used enamels. Brush painted with Humbrol enamels and finished straight from the box to represent an aircraft of 80 Squadron RAF. One of the first models I attempted to make a but grubby using watercolours. Thanks for looking.

Very nice finish! Brush painted? Can hardly believe it.

The easiest 'upgrade' would probably be to replace those horrible Airfix Rotol blades that don't seem to make up their minds which way to turn.

Nice work indeed and worth a better fate than being hidden on a shelf in the shed!

Kind regards,

Joachim

That is a very nice model. Nice to see you brought it back from the shed. Well done.

The finish is right for the time, but I am not a fan of a shine don't no why.

Love the scheme and your work is great. In fact this plus the Blenheim and didn't you do a brilliant 1/72 silver typhoon.... Pretty brilliant line up....

Thanks for all the comments. In actuality it isn't that shiny, it's a bit of a trick of the light (it was very bright this morning). And thanks for the vote of confidence Rob :-)
