Cool, will have to get one, even though I don't normally do subs.

Hi

I have two on the way from wonderland models who I think had 10% off ?

Which helped a little to offset the horrendous shipping charges to canada, not wonderlands fault.

Lets hope for somemore types.. Conqueror, Superb, Revenge...

I would like to build one of each class I worked on as a dockyardie.

Cheers

I'll have to snap one of these up as well, I'd prefer a Vanguard, but a Trafalgar will suffice :)

Bronco do a nice Vanguard Skii, not too expensive and a nice kit, bought mine from Lucky Model for $12

One think I have noticed with the Trafalgar kit,

Shown on the box art is a side profile and it shows her with a

propeller rather than a propulsor, I know only the first of the class

was commissioned with a propeller or screw. Looks like another WEM purchase coming up!!

I going to build her as HMS Turbulent so the propulsor is needed.

I'll post some pix when my kit arrives.

The kit can be used to model any of the seven vessels in the class, quoting from Issue 10 of the Airfix Club Magazine build article; "You can build it with or without periscopes, flag poles, front elevators and use either the propeller or turbine.".

Hi,

As I understand it, the propulsors were regularly changed and varied in design, so there is no standard one.

I have the bronco vanguard, nice kit, and cheap off e bay

I did not know there was an astute coming out, maybe interesting.

Great news. All we need now is for something to reproduce the missing tiles that seemed to plague these boats. Something along the line of those thin resin zimmerit sheets might work.

Hi

With the scale of the model,1:350, the missing tiles, might be best reproduced by just simulating them with different colour paint.

Hi Y'all,

Good news on this sub. Hopefully, I will pick one up at RAF Waddington Air Show on Sunday 4th July, if any have been left!?

Hugh Williams

Well, so much for getting one from Airfix Tent. They had sold out!

Cheers!

It might be an idea to order direct from Airfix.

Placed my order at 3pm in the afternoon and it turned up the next day !

Great service from airfix

Hearing all these people saying they have got their hands on this kit is annoying. The two model shops here in the town where the Trafalgar class were built did not even know that it had been released.

It's too bad the modelling companies are missing the detailed acoustic tiles that are so prevalent on our subs today and also past designs as well. Here's a nice pic of Turbulent showing the acoustic tiles, with many missing. I think this would be difficult to simulate with paint.
