  1. TM and BeBe in Nicosia are still going, no idea about Nicks in Limassol. Haven't heard of any new shops.

  3. Vince at Models For Sale has always been good with shipping, if you called the order in I imagine he could get it out to you quickly? http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog/modelkits.php?manufacturers_id=14231-Evergreen
  4. I asked my contact at Airfix and apparently certain export markets are having their prices adjusted so they are inline with UK prices, at the moment UK prices are not going to change as far as my contact was aware.
  5. Jeff, Airfix also replied to your post on the Facebook page on the 29th, but you may not have seen it because it got moved down the page by other postings
  6. Not sure where the other thread with the discussion on the bomb aimers window glazing has gone, the link I had no longer works? Having just caught up on my e-mail, I had one from Airfix in reply to a message sent about the thread and possible discrepancy in the window framing. They are interested in viewing and reviewing any data and information anyone has about this, so if interested parties could send the info and pictures, plans, sources etc to the following address Airfix will make sure the development team have a look at it; [email protected] Best Rich.
  7. Not at all, I never get tired of talking about Anson's
  8. It is indeed the venerable old Airfix kit. Took a bit of work and a fair bit of filler to get to this point; When I realised the navigators/radio station table had come loose and was rattling around inside, so I had to do a bit of surgery; Still, it gave me the opportunity to add the internal framing which I omitted before the fuselage was joined and it seemed to turn out well in the end.
  9. Talk about a blast from the past. Thanks for the comments.

  11. Now in stock at Hannants and presumably other retailers, although not on the Airfix website yet. They seem to be pushing the Red Arrows Gnat and Do17 out to retailers first, presumably because Airfix are still swamped with orders from Black Friday. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AX05010
  12. Not a rumour, posted up on the Hornby RNS, Scalextric and Corgi mentioned, so it doesn't look like there will be any Airfix kits, unless they do a snap fit release of the Scalextric car? http://online.hemscottir.com/ir/hrn/ir.jsp?page=news-item&item=1912830257266688
  13. Heller re-box, like the 1/48 Jag. Both kits have been issued by Airfix but they have no input in this deal, it's Heller/Revell.
  14. Well the previous Airfix Hamilton F1 kit was a pre-painted snap fit kit in 1/32 scale....
  15. There were going to be some new items to be included with the re-issues. Apparently the figure detail wasn't up to the standard that Airfix wanted so they were initially delayed while that was worked on. Looks like they have now been cancelled, maybe because the sets missed their optimum moment as a result of the production delays. The new items may well be issued for next year as individual items rather than as a part of sets, not long to wait until we know what is in the 2015 range.
  16. Airfix A50144 WWI The First Assault Gift Set - Cancelled AirfixA50145 WWI Artillery Barrage Gift Set - Cancelled Airfix A50165 WWI Western Front (Trench Warfare) Gift Set - Cancelled
  17. Against unescorted bombers with a limited defensive armament I'm sure the Defiant would have been very successful. Witness how effective the 110 was against unescorted Hampdens. They herded them along and had one fly up alongside outside of the traverse angle of the rear gunner in the Hampden and then have their gunner open up on the pilot of the Hampden.
  18. A bit disappointing that the QC didn't check a bit more thoroughly to weed out the ones with the problem before releasing the kits to market. I hope it's not the case of the supplier fudging the numbers with the problem to meet a quota for shipping to the US.
  19. I'd say it's more likely that Airfix are replacing consistent good sellers from the range with new tools. If an old kit is a good seller it is going to appear in the range until it is replaced by a new tool. If a kit hasn't appeared recently or only very sporadically over the last 10-20 years then we're unlikely to see a new kit as the sales won't justify a re-tool but more likely a re-issue e.g Fouga Magister. An exception to this would have to be the Wellington, we are long overdue a new tool of this kit, the original appeared in the range continuously from 1959 until the tooling wore out in 2000, and then Airfix re-boxed the MPM kit from 2008-2010. Given Airfix's penchant for WW2 twin engine aircraft it must be a good bet for a new kit.
  20. Year on year Airfix have held and increased their market share and increased profits despite one of the worst recessions in European history, so their strategy of having a diverse end seller base seems to be paying off for them. Other divisions of Hornby are seriously struggling, perhaps this might be in part due to Hornby trains and scalectric sets being larger and more expensive and therefore more restricted in where they can be sold compared to the small easily placed and cheap Airifx gift and starter sets?
  21. I heard the tooling was damaged during the production run and had to be repaired before the run could be completed. Could well be that Airfix shipped whatever had been done to the USA first (presumably the US market requiring a smaller quantity), while waiting for the main shipment to be completed for the UK/Europe market.
