Wayne B Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 …. black or grey/green? Special Hobby instructions are somewhat indecisive about it. Any advice greatly appreciated.
dov Posted May 23, 2022 Posted May 23, 2022 Black Total black! Awful! Really, if you sit in this cockpit and consider night flying! Happy modelling
Wayne B Posted May 24, 2022 Author Posted May 24, 2022 Thanks all! I guess I’ll go with ……. black (or maybe really dark grey).
Pappy Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 (edited) Not just black, wasn't it also a 'crinkle' finnish ( but still black) as well? Pappy Edited May 27, 2022 by Pappy

Pappy Some parts but not all, remember, a lot of parts used would be what we now refer to as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), it would come from all over the RAF supply system, it would be finished to the relevant spec for that part. The spec would say matt black but one manufacturers matt black may not be as matt black as another's (it will still be black though).
Selwyn Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Purple! No its black really, Colour blindness being my defence! Selwyn.
canberra kid Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Going by these photos of English Electric built ones, I'd venture black is the way to go. John 1
Vulcanicity Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Having read carefully through this thread and thought about Vampire interiors a fair bit, I am going to tentatively suggest canary yellow (make sure to get the right spec pink for the Bakelite seat though). 1
