Rick Brown Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Chaps. Minding me own business when this appeared: Rick. 11
Fatboydim Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I love this aircraft. Such a beautiful looking beast. Thanks for posting Rick 1
Rick Brown Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 I was lucky to get it. I was having me butties and didn't have the radio at hand. I looked up and saw it approaching and managed to grab the camera in time (it was still in the bag etc, took about two seconds to get it ready!). It did two missed approaches, crew waved, nearly did a wing over and left. Rick. 1
Fatboydim Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 You've got a couple of great shots. I would like to see one painted in the old Airfix Hercules scheme of Dark Earth, Mid Stone & Black complete with the original markings. 1
John.R Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Great shots Rick, I missed this exact aircraft the other week when it did a ILS approach at Liverpool! 1
Rickpadwick1801 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I love that plane, its such a beast. I really need to get to an airshow this year where I hope it will be displaying. Nice shots, Rick. ATB, Rick 1
Paul J Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Lucky man Rick. I have to say, the type is slowly growing on me. May have to take a look at The 1/144 Revell kit sometime. 1
MikeW Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I've been trying to master this trick Rick - Enjoy a snack and have an interesting aeroplane arrive overhead. Great off the cuff photography. Cheers, Mike 2
bzn20 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Good skill, eating and groping for a camera, bet you've got lemon curd all over it now! Where were you in Gloucester? 1
xffw45343tg Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 My guess is that he was somewhere near 27 on the Bamfurlong Road. 2
Rick Brown Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 I was passing and normally pop in for a coffee at the Aviator. You can always find a brew at an airfield. Pity I didn't have my proper camera with me, just my point and press thing. Rick.
SaintsPhil Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) They did a good 45 mins of circles right over our site, over cleeve hill then back out over the airport. It was an impressive sight and surprisingly quiet! Disappeared back to Belize just before a biblical hail storm passed over!! Edited February 26, 2015 by SaintsPhil 1

tonyot Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Nice pics and like others have said, despite being a huge fan of the Herk, it is growing on me too and I`m considering the 1/72nd Revell kit as somebody on e bay was selling British decals for it. Cheers Tony 1
Bill Bunting Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Thanks for sharing the pics. The A400 is definitely on my "to do"list in 1/144!!! 1
