  1. Lovely model a short nosed mk4 in Teutonic grey is very hard to beat, I just watched some YouTube of Girls und Panzer and it is 'interesting' , I think A bright pink Grant or a yellow/red Stug with flags should be your next build
  2. I think it's true to say that, in combination with the British Matildas, these actually made the Germans sit up and take notice and led to the 'emergency'application of 88's as AT guns.
  3. C for me it's just a little different, although you must question putting target roundels on the back of the turret.
  4. Me too very moody or did he loose the undercarriage?
  5. Looking good so far, like the drills fancy some of those. Please when using the Gaspatch turnbuckles plenty of detail as they look the dogs danglies as well.
  6. Surely if it compromises your modelling an extensive course of vaccinations are required Nice model by the way.
  7. My personal mantra when doing a model is to give it a rough life to include age, usage, situation and current weather this allows me to determine the weathering/wear I feel I want. Many models are overdone but I remember the story of a Universal carrier trapped in a desert storm, after the storm was over the crew found that the wind side was blasted to bare metal in many places. I think the wear on a Bedford truck that has been around for a while and a six week old T34 or a nice new Spit are all going to be very different.
  8. Fantastic absolutely bl##dy gorgeous. Yet another kit ruined for me as I'll never equal that quality finish
  9. Great news, I've just finished one of the old ones and it was a trial and a pleasure wrapped into one.
  10. Seconded about the tree, please tell. Really like the rest as well.
  11. I did snap a lot of drill bits, in the end what I did was to sleeve the drill bit inside a hypodermic needle section (any number can be bought of all shapes and sizes for a few quid on t' 'bay) secure with epoxy and you have a stronger drill bit which also, because it's now thicker, is more positive in the chuck.
  12. 20 to 1 sounds about right, too much and you can get strife. It's good stuff a 250ml pot lasts a long time. I've used it with Revell aqua as well as those already mentioned without problems.
  13. Cracking job love just about everything but, funnily enough, especially the sand which looks spot on.
  14. I found the Model Air yellow thin and lacking in opacity my alternative was a Revell Aqua yellow which seems to spray okay and is plenty opaque, I didn't choose it ,though, after hours of research into the best yellow rather it was what I had. As a side note I find the Revell Aqua paints pretty decent ,good to spray, good to brush, decent container and quite a bit of paint for a reasonable price.
  15. I think Vallejo make excellent paint, arguably some of the best around, what does irk me is the haphazardness of their labeling, it is very difficult to cross reference from one range to another. If you consider ModelAir, Model Colour and the Panzer Ace off shoot then they must have 150/200 different colours all, seemingly without coherent labeling, they could learn a lot from Revell and their labeling system. Also the bl@@dy printing on the pots rubs off very easily if you`re not careful whilst handling or shaking, still good paint though.
  16. For the under-knowledged of us (me) what quality kits did Tristar produce?
  17. I use MEK to clean brushes when working with these sort of things, mind you might as well use it to glue with as well.
  18. I'm just finishing an Eduard Tempest and have noticed that some of the stencils overlap the roundels etc, the question is which has primacy (who's on top, ooh er matron)? Was there a convention to say one supersedes another or did it just depend on who had the brush?
  19. I have this (or at least one very similar) and it's pretty good, it is quite small, though, with an overall footprint of 9x5 cm and a longest straight edge at just under 4 cm. More than adequate for most jobs.

    S Models

Has anyone made a kit by S Models if so what's your opinion?
  21. Beautiful. I love the stressed skin, is there a wip?
  22. I think it all depends on what effect you're after, mud heavy detritus then a slop of pva/varnish (watered) applied where required and reduced where necessary, if you want a dusty look then applied dry with a misting of varnish to seal on. Pastels are reduced/darkened a little by varnish so this should be factored in.
  23. Beautiful, OOB when it's WNW doesn't mean the same as for just about any other make.
  24. Instead of mobi-shed, wheeled-lav or wobble-tow. Lovely Churchill, really got to love those tracks. Dave
