  1. I have a couple of Airfix 1:48 B-57 Canberras which I want at some future date to convert into a B-57D and a B-57F; but it would be great if some nice kind person would produce a set of vac-form wings for either, or both!
  2. I've not invested in the Typhoon, but I had a faulty part in a 1:48 Spitfire XIX last year - contacted them and they sent a replacement, which was also faulty! I emailed them immediately and got a replacement part (OK this time!) by return of post. Airfix's customer service is brilliant.
  3. A Wallace as well as a Wapiti would be awesome! I had a chat with John at Telford and he mentioned also the possibility of a Hart based on his Demon sometime, which would be icing on the cake.
  4. It was an honest question; the sarcasm wasn't necessary.
  5. Jennings - that's a really useful diagram - presumably the wingtip lights would have been removed?
  6. It seems to be a bit perverse of Revell not to release a specific RAF version in UK!
  7. Great models. Are those the Special Hobby 15 and the Airfix 17?
  8. I suppose I'm now going to have to dump the Tamiya Vbs in the stash!
  9. Or use Bricklink: www.bricklink.com/ But I agree - it's a fantastic piece of work!
  10. You're not the only one - a 1:48 Wapiti would be brilliant!
  11. I see that Kinetic have a 1:48 scale Sea Harrier FA.2 listed in their future releases, so as soon as you start your GR.3 they will probably announce a new Harrier GR.3 as well!
  12. Maybe the manufacturers don't think that maritime reconnaissance aircraft are 'cool'? I remember building the Frog Shackleton as a schoolboy and I thought that it was a great kit!
  13. No Highway - great story (plus those ridiculous twin-tailplanes!) Flight of the Phoenix - first version, NOT the recent re-make.
  14. I'll stick with the Tempest V, Alleycat rear fuselage and MDC conversion that I already have!
  15. Revell re-issued the ICM Spitfire XVI a while back, which presumably supports the supposition that the Mustang III is also the ICM moulds?
  16. Thanks guys, that is what I needed to know. (Although presumably an Acquisition round is for training purposes?) Martin
  17. I am starting one of my Airfix 1:48 Lightnings, to be finished as the iconic XR749 when she served with the Lightning Training Flight. I am guessing that the LTF carried the Red Top training rounds, rather than the active missile? If I modify the kit parts by removing the front fins and painting the missile light gray, will this be all that I need to do? Would the training round have had the standard infra-red seeker head? Martin
  18. I picked up the Mk.2 conversion at SMW - it looks very good. The only problem was deciding which one to do!
  19. I don't build 1:24 scale, but I thought that the Typhoon at SMW looked absolutely brilliant! Even though it's not my scale, I think that it might be a good move for Airfix to produce 1:24 aircraft, as most other manufacturers are concentrating on 1:32 at the moment and so it gives the hobby another scale to work in. Martin
