  1. "S.I.G. kids if you don't understand that one ask father lol" And so we all,. Frack! And I thought all the above was essential learning on the national school curriculum? Oh deary me.
  2. "I have my suspicions who was the guilty party - the one in the middle below" Surely not, with that gorgeous innocent, it wasn't me look? I have a very helpful puss cat and a two year old retriever who loves to help as well when he can. Warp nacelles found chewed on the lawn etc. I'm no maritime modeller at all, but following this to admire your incredible craftsmanship with tiny bits of p.e. Stunning work Rob.
  3. "Good idea! I can nick them all then and the Thunderbirds will be mine, all mine! The Hood" Just remember, we do know which pyramid you live in if you do indeed succeed, and whatever you do everyone, just don't look into his eyes........... Nice one Martin.
  4. "but surely when he's built it, he won't be able to take and pictures of it because the alarm will go off?" Nice one, Bigdave, and then of course TB1 and FAB1 would have to there, poised to give chase...............
  5. Pulling up my chair also, TB1 and TB2 are just so iconic having grown up with them. Would love to build these birds, now in my mid fifties. Nice one, lights and palm trees as well perhaps?
  6. I'm 54, going on 13 again. Loved the homage to the late and truly great Gerry Anderson, with Stingray, the original "5,4,3,2,1", the Eagle command module, along with the much discussed lemon squeezer etc. I really liked all the new hardware with those fabulous new viewing windows, plus the island looks a wonderful place to be. The only questions I have so far is why Virgil has to manually close his access hatch on the fabulous TB2, and why has Lady Penelope not got a bigger bust? Thoroughly enjoyed it, admittedly after watching a lot of rugby with the odd beer or two.
  7. Brilliant thread so far Madhatter, watching with this one with great interest indeedy. Cheers
  8. Many thanks your help Skodadriver. Very constructive indeed, its good to know I'm not going daft after reading "post 12" in the excellent Frontier thread, and the wonderful pic you very kindly sorted and included is a great reference as to what's on top of the big bird. I have also just put the generic BraZ satellites on my Hannants watch list, so, maybe she won't be a quick build after all? Even Nazcar Decals do not cover the 767 in their detail sets? The link below, is a pic I took at the AA lounge at JKF just before a wonderful flight home and just before their new scheme was rolled out. Thanks again. Cheers http://www.mediafire.com/view/scp774lnqefdqlt/DSCF0367.JPG
  9. Great advice PMG and Skodadriver, I did occur to me that Boeing antenna's/pitot's and satcoms etc, may be just a standard plug in module across all of their aircraft, without knowing anything technical of course? And I have used the excellent BraZ engines on a 747-400 before, so I will have a look. I also like the thought of scratch building my own satcoms, and nacelle winglets, but I'm struggling to find any accurate drawings or plans on that front, so it may be it's just guesstimate time and just have a go? Many thanks for your replies and have great evening chaps. Cheers
  10. Happy New Year everyone. Santa was very good to me this year after I sent them the links. (lol) I received the above wonderful kit of one my of favourite big birds along with Ray's brilliant AA decals in the lovely old silver scheme, a lovely kit apart from the lack of any antenna's and satellite lumps and bumps along with the nacelle winglet fences . I'm sure I remember seeing seeing resin and brass accessories for these somewhere? A google search has helped, with lots of Airbus and 737 stuff etc, but no Boeing 767's, so far ? Any links or scratch build advice on these tiny but quite important thingy's would be very gratefully received indeed. Cheers
  11. Nice one Ollie, Very nice faded red weathering on the fuselage and looks terrific with your choice of metallic blue drop tanks young man. Your Daddy is quite right, as carpet monsters are very nasty beasties indeed as they eat everything that's dropped on them or they move what they find around the house to store for the winter. "Thank you for looking at my first model!! I'm only 3 and have to go to bed now, but I will be dreaming about my next model!!! I've seen a really cool MPM 1/48 He-177 with all the after market stuff in his cupboard!!! I want to do that one next!!!!!" Looking forward to your next project. Cheers
  12. No bad comments from here Starfighter. A very humble wow and blimey from me. All she needs is some dry ice and the NASA T-minus 10 minute count down playing in the back ground.
  13. Positive climb, gear up! And then afterburner cut off just past my apartment on the 316 on the Hampton Road all those years ago. Thanks for the memories and a great build. I may have to try that now with flickering led's? Mmmm? Cheers
  14. "That's not a kit?! ;-)" Good point, very well presented. You can't just wander around various airfields taking pic's and then posting them as models?? A very humble wow and blimey, on a great model. Cheers
  15. Many thanks Trevor, brilliant advice, this will be a bit of what if anyway, named after the lady who sent me the gift, but has inspired me to do a 1/48 Spit very soon, after nearly going blind installing the photoetch in this scale? Italeri Mk5 it is, thanks again. Cheers
  16. Hi everyone, This is a really stupid question, after reading this wonderful technical thread, so I just hope this is in the right place? I'm now 53, and have not built a Spitfire since I was around 12, so had a very nice surprise to be given the 1/72 Airfix MK1 A starter set for my birthday this year. A lovely little kit indeed except for no stencils and the canopies moulded as a singe unit. To cut a long story short, I opened the door, installed the wonderful Eduard cockpit, then separated the glazing only to find the main canopy not even close to going on it's runners. Bugger! (plus a small crack! to boot) I followed the brilliant duel Spit build here with the Airfix and Italeri kits, but cannot find the Italeri Mk1/2 any where online at present? Any advice on a 1/72 scale Spit MK1/2 with a decent three piece canopy moulding and stencils would be most welcome? Or would the Itateri MK5 work just as well? How's that for a stupid Spitfire question? Any help gratefully received. Cheers
  17. Awesome, brilliant, and if I may offer a very humble wow and blinking flip to that.
  18. As a kid in the mid sixties, for me it has to be Stingray, (very early crush on Marina), Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet (will not publish what I thought about the Angels, at that age), and then we had UFO and Space 1999 with real people? And then the world changed completely for me during that time frame when Star Trek arrived on prime time BBC. I hate to sound like my very elderly father, but, wow didn't us kids have it good back in the day? Great thread Cheers
  19. I normally use Humbrol matt 147 light grey as a base starfleet hull colour, then various slightly darker tones of grey detail, with a Acreation or JT graphics detail set, I'm pretty sure they do aztec decals that covers both versions of the Big E. Cheers
  20. Clearly just popping out for a quick impulse drive shakedown then? Great pics's and a very nice big E in that scale. Cheers
  21. Great thread, Are they all Darwin Award contestants?? Now that's a show I might actually watch??
  22. Very good point, very well presented. Cheers
  23. Now that, is quite simply blinking stunning! Wow and blimey! Well then, if Qantas and BA are not going to buy these wonderful beasts, I think I have just found my livery. Lovely, many thanks for posting the pic. Cheers
  24. Hi Rick, thanks for the conformation, nice to know my hearing is still tuned in despite the clouds. Always a wonderful sight to behold. Regards to your very good lady for arranging it for us, could you ask her very kindly to sort out the cloud cover over the hills next time? Cheers
  25. Lots of wonderful noise going on currently over the Malvern Hills right now , sounds like our regular F15 visits, low cloud cover so no conformation? But a great sound track to work with.
